The right to shoot and kill people is more important to us. Our country has a gun fetish that overrules all other things. There is no other way to describe how we view guns than calling it a fetish.

Someone breaks into your home, goes into your young daughter's bedroom to rape her. The intruders are armed. What do you do?

And just like all the other defensive gun uses, it absolutely pales in comparison to the amount of times something like this happens.

This country has some odd fetishes. Any time any disruption of any kind happens, people run to get a gun and toilet paper. Like, why??

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

I’m sorry but there’s no way to talk about this without acknowledging that this is a mental illness.

Maybe I suffering mental lapses, but what is he prepared for? Is he going to sit in a filled bathtub and shoot bullets at the fire? This was his training for fighting wildfires?

I think the nutjob is taking "fight fire with fire" a bit too literally.

Why do guns frighten you so much?

That really is the real question. What difference does it make if a person owns a gun to hunt with or use as protection? If you are not going to try and rob the person, steal his stuff, or try and rape or threaten his children, why should you be concerned at all? Who decided that those who do not want to have a gun can dictate to those who do what they do is wrong?

My family lived in Arkansas for 6 years. Where we lived, I'd say 80% of the people hunted or had weapons available to them for security. My family didn't hunt and we decided that we didn't need a weapon where we lived. But just because I felt we were safe from danger and didn't like to hunt, what right do I have to demand that the guy next door couldn't have a gun? That's not fair.

The TRUTH IS that these sniveling politicians who have their own security details and elaborate security systems around them do not understand crap about the everyday folks who have issues that the pols do not begin to understand nor care about.
