He didn't say it wasn't possible. He said it would be a very poor business decision

So again you tried to move those posts.

Yes i really don't think Hal and Cash would do that themselves, the Assitant GM, one of the special advisers to Cash or Hal or 1 of the other large group of people that work in the front office,, i have no idea. To me this feels much more like a Levine move, if it can from the front office .

Could is be possible it can from someone that was actually in the clubhouse at the time of the incident? Either way the idea that it can directly for either Cash or Hal is a little absurd IMO
Bingo. Someone sat on this story a very long time. My guess, again, pool reporter. Who is in the club house regularly? Certainly not Hal or Cashman.

There is literally zero incentive for the front office to leak this. None.

It's being said it was Phil Nevin that leaked it after he was fired, that is not confirmed but would make alot of sense

As Doc said, someone was holding onto this story for quite some time and it would have to come from someone that was in the clubhouse, alot. Hal, Cash and other front office people don't spend much if anytime in the clubhouse.

Coming from one of the fired coaches makes tons of sense. Explains the timing of the story, i'm sure the fired coaches have axes to grind, they certainly don't care how it makes the Yanks look.

This coming from a fired coach would explain alot, especially Nevin

You are probably on target. According to Kay pool reporters haven't been allowed in the locker room due to Covid protocol. So....who would be in the locker room and also have an axe to grind?

that would seem to be what would fit best, IMO. It makes zero sense that the front office would put that out, although based on his past actions i wouldn't put it past Levine who is a tool, but Nevin or one of the other fired coaches would fit the bill quite well.

IMO, it had to be leaked with someone who has been in the clubhouse and if it were reporters, i don't think they would have sat on this for 6 months. The timing, is a little to perfect for it to have been one of the dismissed coaches

Not saying Levine did it for sure but if he did , I doubt he does it without cashmanís knowledge

I wonder what they get from it? I certainly agree with the logic presented as to who would do it. My question is what do they gain? We know it was a bad day and then Cole apologized. I still think he acted like a twat and I am shocked Gardner didn't deck him. (Yes, I think Gardner cleans the floor with him in a fight). But I would guess he felt it better for the team to deal with it quietly.

If one of the coaches wants to paint Cole in a bad light, why? Is it a statement about Boone's ability to do anything? Now if more stuff comes out about little fires in the locker room that were not handled by Boone? That would make more sense as to why.

Unless it's just attention they sought?
