I love Zach, but if it requires sending him to BKN for KD, I’ll pack his bags. Out of all the contending teams KD can go to, who else can offer a better player in return (2x all-star, 25ppg scorer and just getting into his prime now). If Zach didn’t have knee concerns, I’d be hesitant, but considering his issues it’s a no brainer. KD, DeRozan and Vuc gives us a legit shot at a title or multiple. Sign Mitchell Robinson and a couple other ring chasing vets for the MLE and off we go.

Vuc, Coby, blazers first, and two of pat, ayo or terry for Durant/Claxton… would that get it done??

I mean two of ayo, pat, or terry is essentially 2 lottery pick players

KD wouldn’t put the bulls on the table if Zach not staying

Yeah I don’t think KD comes if Zach isn’t here. I could be wrong, but it sounds like they’re very close.

KD sent out a personal tweet to Derozan "Thank you for setting a great example and playing the game with supreme skill @DeMar_DeRozan".in Feb. Think he'd be cool with Derozan, Vuc and Lonzo, Debo was arguably our best player last year, and our organization is finally looking like a good one. Derozan has been healthier, sure KD is tired of his running mates constantly going down. And if Kyrie leaves, our roster minus Zach and P Will KILLS the Nets roster minus KD.

I mean, even assuming Williams is included in the trade, Ball, Caruso, Derozan, KD, Vucevic, with Coby, Ayo, Terry, Justin Lewis, couple of free agent bigs, is a LEGIT contender with great spacing for KD to operate. Add a guy like T.J Warren, Otto Porter Jr, Batum, Portis etc with the MLE, you could bring Caruso off the bench and let Derozan play SG.

I couldn't imagine how ugly of a situation Brooklyn would be in if Kyrie is successful in pulling off a sign/trade. I doubt he turns down a $36M option if he can't get a sign/trade though. He'll get his money, and be a absolute prick next season until he's a UFA.

But if a team oddly agrees, Brooklyn would get a ton of picks for him. And then another teams picks after Durant tells Brooklyn to kick rocks. Think about buying a team and stadium, getting Irving/Durant/Harden, then end up looking like the 2000 Bulls after 1 season.

Very few teams have the cap to sign Lavine straight out, so most options where he leaves would involve a sign and trade. Saw a proposed trade of Randle, Reddish and two first rd picks (2023 and 2025) for Lavine s+t. Take one of those firsts, add to Vuc, maybe add White and come back with Ayton or Gobert, you got Lonzo, Derozan, Pat Will, Randle, Ayton/Gobert, with plenty of young good players on the bench. Pat Will will probably have more success at SF, has size and strength advantage on most Sf's. Randle's avg'd about 20 a game or more last 4 years, pair him with Gobert/Ayton.

For the Knicks, getting Lavine is probably worth Randle, Reddish, and 2 firsts. This is if Zach really wants to leave, Randle/Gobert would mean we could dominate most big man combos. We'd still have Derozan, Lonzo, Pat Will, Ayo, Caruso, Coby, Terry, this team could survive without Zach, depending on what we get back, especially if P Will improves playing SF.
Its a huge loss to loose that 3rd All-Star. And will end up putting you in no mans land for the next 2 yrs. Which in 2 years your derozan and vuc are both old and kinda washed.

The whole team would need to be restructured at least.

Lavine will not agree to a sign and trade to Brooklyn. Stop this line of thinking. It wont happen.

Zach wants his money. Only an extension with the Bulls or a S&T will get him his full max. Otherwise, he’d have to take less money to go play in Orlando or Detroit (that’s even if they want him since both are rebuilding with young cores).

The only question i have is if there is a limit to what we would offer for KD.

To me its Vuc (expiring) Williams Coby Ayo portland first.

I think this is enough. Some will argue its not but i maintain Durrant is only going to have a few teams he will want to go to. And he won't want to go to said teams if they are required to trade away everything either.

What teams Have more to offer without looking dissected after? He likely wants to go to a contender too so playoffs last year is likely a must. Maybe the heat? Toronto could but i don't see them doing it. Pelicans have the assets bud idk if they do it.

And fwiw i think chcago would be a big draw. None of the LA teams can offer shot. NY feels like they are in no mans land. Dallas would be ideal IMO but they don't have much young tallent.
