Would be awesome if both he and Pat took big leaps this year.

Watching Dennis Schroder in Eurobasket, can't help but think we should have took him over Dragic for Guard depth with Ball in question. He played great with Billy in OKC. Maybe Dragic shoots better, but Dennis drives better and is more explosive in general. He would provide more of a spark IMO.

With Ball out, I'd love to see Ayo start with Dennis coming off the bench.

    Ayo/Dennis
    Lavine/Caruso
    Derozan/Green
    Pat/DJJ
    Vuc/Drummond

    Coby/Terry depth

Dennis could give your bench 15+ PPG and provide a helluva spark.

That Blazers draft pick is looking pretty likely. Their starting 5 is really good with Lillard/Simons/Hart/Grant/Nurkic.

If we can land a 16-22, that would help a lot. Draft best available then in round 2 get Larry Nance Jr’s brother Pete. 6’11” versatile NBA ready PF. He’d be a roll player, but the has the makings of a good one.

Id consider trading that pick with Pat or Coby at the deadline to get a legit 3 and D guy to complement our core scorers. Not sure who will be available yet but I think this deadline will be nuts since so many teams are gonna be in tank mode. We absolutely have to take advantage of that.

I feel like we are a legit 4 away from being a legit competitor. We are deep at the 1-3 and our 5 combo is solid. All our 4s are natural 2’s that can play the 3 well, but are forced to play the 4. And then there’s Pat who just can’t get his **** together.

I think a savvy move would be to trade Green for a pick from a fringe West playoff team, use DJJ as the small ball bench 4, and then use some combo of Pat/Coby/Portland 1st and Green 1st to acquire the 4 we covet. I think we have plenty of juice to get what we need.

Btw I love Green but if we are trading for a 4, Green’s PT is taking a massive cut, so DJJ can cover that role. Green brings back more value in a trade over DJJ, so that’s why I go that route.

A guy I’d look into is PJ Washington. Another option would be Jared Vanderbilt.

If I’m going for big trade, OG Anunoby would be my choice. Highly unlikely they move him, although they are extremely deep with 3/4s. Precious Achiuwa is a lower tier option from their depth.

Jar crowder is the cheapest and easiest to be had if we are Looking for a small ball 4 and he’s the same age as vuc and Demar so he at least fits what we have

What about Obi Toppin? He's only getting about 15 mpg, but he's putting up some efficient offensive numbers in his short time on the court.

He'd fix our undersized 4 problem. Send Thibs Javonte Green. I love Green, but DJJ will take his minutes. Green would fit in more with the Knicks who already have a classic PF in Randle. Green would mix it up with a small ball 3/4. Thibs would absolutely love his defense as well. Both teams improve with the deal.

So no jail time for Miles Bridges. That's definitely a guy I'd bring in.

I was a huge Bridges fan but that ship has sailed. No way the Bulls sign him…I don’t think they have any cap left even if they wanted to

I’d say no to Toppin for Green. The defense, hustle and energy he brings would be missed. It’s like when we lost Nwaba. Those guys matter and unless you’re improving significantly, it may not help.

That’s a tough call. Toppin is 5 years younger and has way more upside. He’s also shooting lights out from 3 this year but who knows if he could keep it up. I love Green but I don’t know…it’s tempting.
