Cliff Lee was only great for about six years (2008-13) and was "meh" during the rest of his career.

    Future Hall of Shamers:
    (1) B.A.L.C.O. Barroids (2) Mark McJuicer (3) Jose Chem-seco (4) Rafael Palmeiroids (5) Ken Chem-initi (6) Jason Gi-andro (7) Ryan Fraud (8) Muscle Melk (9) Woman-Ram (10) Shammy Sosa (11) Roger Clear-mens (12) A-Roid (13) Ryan HGHoward

Chris Carpenter would be a better comparison for Cliff Lee.

Cliff Lee had the better peak, but Scherzer had the better career.

I just looked it up for fun.

From 2008-2013 Lee's peak, he put up numbers of:
    2.89 ERA, 2.85 FIP 140 ERA+ 8.1 K/9 6.11 K/BB an average of 200k over 222ip, and 36.7 rWAR, which averages to 6.1 per season.

Scherzers peak which was 2013 unit...today, you get:
2.82 ERA 2.85 FIP 149 ERA+ 11.4 K/9 a 5.38 K/BB an average of 243 K's over 192 innings. (This includes 2020 which kinda ****s up some of his numbers) with 54.6 war which averages to 6.1 a season. If you take out 2020 then you get 52.6 rWAR averaging out to 6.55 rWAR per season.

    Maybe Adam Wainwright.
