Again definitely something he could have seen but sure would be nice if the oline actually blocked for him so the play could have a chance to be executed as designed. This oline's pass blocking is horrid. There is no reason he should have guys in his face nearly every play.
I am excited to see this oline with Jenkins and Borom.
But it's so bad lol. 2nd worst in the league .
Unfortunately having awful pass blocking tackles ruin an offense
Nagy has been more of a problem than Pace but as much as it sucks its a legitimate excuse

Hopefully hear something about Larry next week so he can go in at RT
Glad Grant wasn’t hurt on that return. We desperately need good field position to start drives if we plan on scoring more than 20pts a game.

Grant has been a pleasant surprise for me.
I'm not really all that upset with how they played. Defense was a bit disappointing but kind of what you get with a rookie QB. The good and the bad. Certainly left some points on the board.
My original take on Fields was and is correct ,he holds the ball way too long ,is very indecisive with the ball in the pocket. Two or three times a DE broke through and Fields stood in the pocket not immediately taking off and easily beating the guy with his feet...He waited till the guy was on top of him and all he had to do was lunge and trip him up.
He locks in on guys way too much.....
Now as soon as he gets Bill Walsh to coach him ,he'll be fine............![]()
I happen to think they are NOT using Roquan Smith the way should ...He needs to play a little more North and South vs East and West....He's a exceptional talent and IMO could be used more to pressure QB's....But I'm not in every post calling for the DC to be fired!!! I mentioned before the game that you needed to use him more "down hill" coming at Rodgers...
I believe it was Bibs that mentioned it in last week's game thread, but Khalil Herbert gives you some nice insurance moving forward if/when Montgomery wants to get paid after next season. His vision is excellent and he's very decisive when he sees the opening... not a single negative carry for him today, which is really impressive considering the line play.
I hope he's still a part of the game plan when Montgomery is healthy.
This game was such a letdown.. started out so promising.
