Who knows? At this point, it’s just fun to speculate. Anything can happen. That said, I would be very surprised if the Texans gave up #2 and #12. However, with the Colts likely to be aggressive and being in the same division, anything is possible. Ideally, I’d like to come away with a 24 1st and might be mandatory in any negotiation

Agreed. 2024 1st is super essential. If fields end up not being the guy, they need to be equipped to move up the draft board.

Yeah much more interested in 2024 1st with the Texans if they're that desperate.

Yep. I like to think Fields is the guy for sure, but that is not set in stone. If he doesn’t take off as expected, an extra 24 1st is crucial, especially if the QB class is as good as people are saying right now. Although, people never get this right for the most part. The “weak” QB classes often turn out to be great and the supposed stacked QB classes churn some duds. For the most part, it’s a coin flip. Even the best scouts get it wrong

Definitely. Better draft and insurance if Fields doesn’t work out.

I don't think this qualifies as a "Where there's smoke there's fire" tweet. Just doing their due diligence.

    College football prospects/draft thread

Mentioned him a lot here, but he’s right there with JSN for me. I don’t care that he’s undersized. The way he adjusts to bad throws and his YAC ability gives him a really high floor IMO. Plus he’s not just limited to the slot - actually has way more snaps out wide the last 2 years.

I would not be surprised if he ends up being WR1 from this draft a few years down the road.

Kiper loves him too fwiw. Wonder if he could be had in the 30s in case we do pick up extra picks.

I’m afraid you might be right. WRs are also getting drafted earlier and earlier, so that won’t help the Bears odds that he falls to the 2nd.
