I listen to a podcast cast with Olney this morning. He polled 15 scouts and they all think we're going to go hard after Corey Seager. Olney also.said that would be away not to block Peraza and Volpe. He said the scouts believe Seager has 1yr max left at SS, then will require a move to 3rd. That would give Peraza the time he probably needs to finish developing at AAA. He also mentioned how highly scouts rate Peraza defensively, scouts think he will be a GG caliber defender when he steps on the MLB field. He has remarkable range side to side but they love his ability to charge balls in front of him and range back.
It was mentioned that if the Yanks have a little more time to develop him, look for him to get some reps in CF. He absolutely has the speed and arm to handle it
That is why I think signing a FA makes sense. Seager could move to 3B or 2B. Correa could possibly move after a while as well. Peraza can slot in at SS or 2B and Volpe could probably play 3B or SS.

If Hal will.shell out the money I'd be thrilled with Seager. But is it smart to pay him as a SS, when they plan on him switching positions?

I love the skill.set Peraza has. I am sick of having bad defense at SS, his plus plus speed and ability to steal bags helps alot.

Volleyball, Peraza and Seager would be a darn good infield on both sides of the ball.

The Dodgers have Turner who's natural position is SS. They also have multiple players they want.to resign in Max, Kershaw, Jansen. With Turner being much cheaper and better defender, plus they have a couple young middle infielders that should be ready. Even the Dodgers don't have the money to resign all of them, especially if they can't get out of the Bauer deal.

The Giants actually won that division and had the most wins of any team. Pretty sure they were the best team in the regular season last yr.

Price and Kershaw are the two most overpaid starters with very little bag for the buck! Both are basically lefty specialistÖ.$30 million per season for those two? Hilarious!

Maybe he won't get the 31M he's been making but the Dodgers aren't going to let him go. They have close to 100m tied up in Max, Kershaw and Bauer. They've already said they want Kershaw and Max back and if they can't void Bauers contract they aren't going to have the money to bring everyone back

why in the world would he leave ATL, they have a great core and are probably going to the WS this yr. He's been with the Braves his entire career, he's their new Chipper Jones.

If he leaves ATL, huge if IMO, he's probably looking to go back to Cali where he's from

The Padres really wanted a big LHed bat at the deadline and tried to get Gallo. They also would love to move away from Hosner, maybe they make him a huge offer

Max doesn't want to play in NY for either team so thats not happening. Verlander is going to be 38-39 and is coming off TJS. Hal isn't going to spend 50-60 M to get those 2 guys even if it was a possibility

Rumors are that Cleveland will be looking to shop Bieber, if there was ever a pitcher to spend big spec capitol on it's Bieber. If you could build a package around Peraza, Gil and Schmidt i think they would have to consider that strongly

For me it boils down to if itís easier to sign a bat or a pitcher. This year itís much easier to sign an impact bat, so I think you do that and trade for the pitcher. Essentially, would you rather trade for Bieber and sign Seager or trade for Marte and sign Ray. Just using those other players as examples, obviously you could pencil others in there.

Would you trade German and a lottery ticket for Buxton? Trade simulator says it works thanks to his injury history. When heís healthy heís one of the best CF in the game
