this is hilarious watching this melt down. I would have loved Seager but 10yrs325m for a guy that is injury prone and likely to move to 3rd is too much.

The biggest mistakes IMO the Yanks have made so far is not getting either Barnhart or Stallings.

I would have probably matched the Verlander deal though

Yankees are a freaking money machine. You don’t need Hal money, he has it there already. He blows away Cohen with just owning the Yankees.

Stallings is the only disappointment for me today and I'm still optimistic that we might not be out of the woods yet, because the Marlins have been trying to trade for Gary Sanchez. in my wild optimistic dreams, they flip Stallings and pitching in a trade to the Yankees for Sanchez and prospects.

Stop buying into the owner PR machine...the Yankees could drop d!ck and go for a $400MM payroll next season if they really want to.

ALL payroll limits are self imposed.

Cash and Hal playing coy is annoying but watching fans support fielding an inferior team so that Hal can save money is worse.

The part that is most perplexing to me, why did they work to reset the clock on the luxury tax? I believed it was precisely for this FA class. If not now, when?

A new, and ready-made, executive soundbite has probably already been thoroughly prepped to sound just credible enough to delude the uninformed, casual, fair-weather ‘fan,’ and it probably involves using the unsurety of the impending lockout as a justification to sit back and ‘analyze another year’s worth of data…..’

Not sure what is crazy about the Scherzer deal. That is a solid deal to get an elite pitcher on such a short deal. Really reduces the risk.
