Finally the shots started to fall, if Strus is to miss some time then Duncan better continue his efficient shooting pace, Strus actually closed the game vs the Hornets over Duncan since he was struggling

Maybe Caleb Martin can fill in for Strus if he misses time

Miami is playing well, Herro best road game so far.
Second night of a back-to-back, on the road, no Bam, and we're playing a super athletic PG? I thought for sure this was a loss lol

To win by 26 is pretty crazy since these are typically the games we lose, so far so good

Yes, the defense is what's making it possible. Even when Miami lays a dud like against Indy, even then they can force overtime.

Miami hasn't even clicked perfectly offensively yet. And with Oladipo out, hasn't reached max potential. Wow.

Defending Luka and a hungry Mavs team is next. Let's hope they keep this momentum.

We gotta tough stretch of games coming up, stinks that Strus is out for the next two weeks but still glad it's not for longer, he's proven to be a solid piece off the bench, thankfully Lowry stepped up his offensive game vs Dallas and maybe next game it'll be Duncan who gets hot from three

Caleb Martin was a good find he is a solid 3rd stringer. Much better upside than playing Vincent. But definitely need more shooting depth.

Too bad Miami is up against the tax or I'd want them to get a guy like James Ennis for temporary depth.

Miami's offense is becoming a concern. Spo has to figure out how to get Bam involved early. He should have been able to abuse Jokic with his quickness or Gordon with his strength.

Lowry with these horrible shooting nights is getting old also.

Next game is a trap game for sure. Right before Thanksgiving, second night of a back-to-back also.

^We had a shot....just got away from us late.....Minnesota had 2 guys have career nights & Jimmy/Bam weren't nearly aggressive enough. Schedule loss.

Interesting to see if anything happens between Morris and Jokic tomorrow. I think refs might come out too sensitive on the whistle.

I pride myself on not overreacting, but I can't help but get a little concerned. If Duncan's not hitting 3s even semi-regularly, what use is he on the floor? I don't foresee Struss being the shooter Duncan was the last couple seasons, but he does more when his shot isn't on.

It matters not, we paid him big $$ so we gotta play him to justify the contract. Let's just hope he ascends to the mean soon....

Some observations on the team from someone who's not posted anything for a very long time (what's up guys!):

Duncan Robinson is straight up stealing money from the HEAT. I thought they really overpaid a one-trick pony since he signed that contract but this is unfathomably bad. He's literally not bringing anything to the table right now. He's not making shots, not rebounding in addition to being a big minus on defense. Man they really got Whiteside'd again.

Bam Adebayo is still a borderline all-star but I guess we all expected more out of him. He really has not improved much since signing the extension. His jump shots are still inconsistent as hell, his 'post moves' are still very basic, awkwardly-looking and predictable, and he usually struggles against longer players. Now his body is banged-up too. I just can't see him being much better in the future.

Jimmy Butler is our best and most consistent player but how come he got hurt so often? The offense really suffers without him.

Kyle Lowry is still good. He may struggle a little bit but I think it's due to the team not providing enough space for him to operate. The starting unit is just so bad at shooting 3's right now. Bam and Butler can't shoot. Duncan's been bricking big time. Tucker's not a volume shooter by any means.

PJ Tucker, IMO, does live up to his contract. It's just that the team is struggling right now so he has to do more than he should, and could.

Tyler Herro is one of very few bright spots. He is really good if he doesn't have to do too much. He's a secondary scorer and secondary ball-handler at his best. Still, the HEAT need to be very careful not to handle out a huge *** contract to him like they did to Robinson.

Dewayne Dedmon is a good piece off the bench. He's a plus to the team as long as he doesn't have to do too much. He needs to work on concentration though because he fumbles a lot of passes from teammates.

Caleb Martin is a pleasant surprise. The HEAT need to lock him up to a cheap muti-year contract. He can be the next Derrick Jones Jr. for us.

Markieff Morris: nothing of note so far. Can't expect much more from a minimum deal.

Max Strus and Gabe Vincent are very good on minimum contracts, can hit 3's and not being huge liabilities on D like Robinson.

KZ Okpala is absolute garbage. Literally the only reason he's not been cut yet is because of the price Riley paid to get him. Absolute non-factor on offense, can't rebound and only plays decent on-ball defense.

Overall, this team's still having the same problem that they've had for years. They're too small. They consistently got outrebounded by bigger, more athletic teams. This team puts pride on hustling but somehow they got outhustled more often than not.

Still, I'm not panicking though. This team, given time and health, can really make noise.

I think most of what you said is spot on. Miami needs now shooting (or the guys that already have to shoot better) to make the offense work. That and health... including health from Oladipo if they want to make real noise.

Defense has been solid when healthy, but they just can't buy baskets.

Duncan Robinson in 20 minutes last night.....

    0 Points
    0 Rebounds
    0 Assists
    0 Blocks
    1 Steal
    0/7 FGM
    0/6 3PM
    0/0 FTM
    2 Fouls

Right when you thought the dude couldn't play any worse. Maybe he needs to be sent to Sioux Falls for a month to rebuild his confidence or something.
