    Yankees at Red Sox Sept. 24-26

    The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox meet Friday in MLB action from Fenway Park. New York is coming off a series versus the Rangers this week. The Yankees managed a sweep in those three games. As for the Red Sox, they played a pair versus the Mets in their last set. Boston kept their streak going with two more home wins.

    New York was able to escape the Rangers this week, posting wins 4-3 Monday, 7-1 Tuesday and 7-3 on Wednesday. In the finale victory, Yankees starter Corey Kluber lasted 4.1 innings with three earned runs on eight hits.

    For the starter gig in the Friday opener, the Yankees will send out ace Gerrit Cole. Over his 169.1 innings this year Cole has 137 hits, 61 runs (57 earned), 21 homers, 38 walks, 231 Ks and a 3.03 ERA.
    Over on the Red Sox’ side, they’re riding a seven-game win streak right now thanks to two more wins over the Mets this week 6-3 and 12-5. In the Wednesday game, Boston starter Chris Sale put up 5.0 innings with two earned on six hits and two walks.

    Starting pitcher for the Sox on Friday will be Nathan Eovaldi. This season Eovaldi has 173.2 innings with 171 hits, 74 runs (69 earned), 14 homers allowed, 32 walks, 188 Ks and a 3.58 ERA.

    The Yankees are 4-0 in their last four in game one of a series and 6-0 in their last six after an off day. New York is 6-1 in their last seven Friday games as well.

    Meanwhile, the Sox are 4-0 in their last four versus the AL East and 18-4 in their last 22 Friday games. Boston is 36-16 in their last 52 at home and 4-1 in their last five after an off day.

    Boston has been on a run lately, and Eovaldi has been a major part of their recent pitching success. He’s got three or fewer earned runs in each of his last eight starts. As for Cole, all the pressure is on him here after seven earned on 10 hits, two homers and a walk in 5.2 innings during his last start. Cole hasn’t gone 6.0 innings in any of his last three.

    We should be Ok for Friday and Saturday. Sunday is the problem. Monty has issues vs Boston and we can’t ever hit that lefty of theirs.

    I expect Voit to be the 1b on Sunday with Rodriquez going.
