The two most disappointing teams down the stretch are by far the Padres and Yankees. Both will probably miss Oct baseball.

It's crazy to look at the ERAs of the starters and then see the teams record.

And if You told me in April these would be our starters era’s in September i would have signed up for that. And if you told me in the next sentence we’d be fighting for our playoff lives I probably wouldn’t believe you

Right? I would have thought Cole would be where he is and Monty would have been a mid 4 guy at best. Same with German, Kluber and Tallion

Sounds like they plan to activate Sevy with the next couple days. Blake said he will pitch out of the BP. Blake confirmed his FB was sitting 96-98 without max effort and was really happy with the shape and movement on his sinker, CU and SL

Its probably to little to late but getting German and Sevy in the BP should be a boost

Very true but you never know. Maybe they help the Yankees steal one they shouldn't have and that game is the difference.

    Any news on Loaisiga?

Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:

•Reinstated RHP Luis Severino (#40) from the 60-day injured list.

•Released RHP Sal Romano from the roster.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

    Jonathan Loaisiga, RHP

    Injury: Right rotator cuff strain

The latest: Pitching coach Matt Blake said Loaisiga will likely take tomorrow off from his throwing program after throwing the last three days. After that, Loaisiga will throw another three consecutive days, and the team hopes he can throw a bullpen session sometime during the series in Boston “and then see how he responds to that, give him another timeline as we get closer to Toronto and Tampa,” Blake said.

Sounds like Loaisiga could be back the last 6-7 games of the YR and thats when were going to need him most. Honestly a backend of the BP of Chapman, Sevy, German and Loaisiga should be pretty good. For the most part our middle relief guys have been pretty good, it's the last 6 outs that have given us hell.

Right now they need to be playing like every game is there last. I wouldn't be surprised if the WC didn't come down to 1 game either way

    You know what would help.

Giving guys consistent playing time and playing your best players day in and out. Minus the occasional rest day.

    Maybe Boone should try it.

Let’s face it, between the way we’ve been playing and the way the teams ahead of us have been playing it looks bleak.
I’m just hoping that maybe something like Severino and Germann give us a boost.
Let’s just get in and have fun!!!
