welp last in the division for sure at this point. 3rd time in the last 5 years and 5 straight losing seasons. I would be shocked if Fangio isn't fired. I hope we can get someone who can either develop a QB or trade for a qb who doesn't need developing.
I must admit Russell wilson wasn't someone I was honestly expecting. I knew there were rumors, but figured they would kinda just dissapear kinda like the Rodgers rumors seem to have. Thank goodness I now longer have to worry about drafting a qb to develop. Russ isn't Rodgers, but he is 5 years younger. the trade seems about right for his talents at this point. its put up or shut up time for all our young wr's.
George Paton is the guy I have been waiting for and I didn't even know it.
IMO, he has consistently made solid decisions and has excellent judgment.
For me, there is a whole new feel to the Broncos since he came on board. I assume we will make the playoffs this year. And I assume we will continue to be a contender for years to come. Probably win a SB or two.
I am so happy he is the GM. I feel like I can just sit back and watch and appreciate the moves he makes.
I am really excited to see how the roster is revised this offseason and who we get in the draft.
Of course, time will tell, but it looks like a sold draft! Excited for the Broncos.

Nik Bonitto LB, OKLA
Height: 6-3, Weight: 238
Smaller, bendy, pass-rush plan master. Explosion is impressive too. Minimal length and barely any power. Outside speed-rush specialist. Fun addition to this defense. (Chris Trapasso)

Greg Dulcich TE, UCLA
Height: 6-4, Weight: 250
Vertical seam-stretcher at the TE spot. Breaks at the top of his route stem are more dynamic than how suddenly he changes directions with the ball in his hands. Surprisingly not a major YAC type despite those traits. Good ball skills. Not a blocker. Ran slower than expected. (Chris Trapasso)

Damarri Mathis S, PITT
Height: 5-11, Weight: 195
Supreme talent at CB. Rockets attached to his cleats, and he plays with an angry demeanor. Not super twitchy but elite recovery speed and his ball skills are quality. Tends to get overly grabby downfield. If that's coached out of him, this is a major steal. (Chris Trapasso)

Eyioma Uwazurike DL, IOWAST
Height: 6-6, Weight: 320
Big-time sleeper as an older prospect. Played and won up and down the line of scrimmage in college with awesome blend of burst, power, pass-rush moves. Unique body type. This is exactly what the Broncos needed after trading Shelby Harris to Seattle. (Chris Trapasso)

Delarrin Turner-Yell S, OKLA
Height: 5-11, Weight: 200
Super-smooth safety with serious traits to be a high-end, rangy type or cover the slot. Up-and-down tackling though he runs the alley like a rocket. Smaller, more compact size likely moved him down boards a bit. Fun player. (Chris Trapasso)

Montrell Washington WR, SAMF
Height: 5-10, Weight: 170
Smaller springier slot receiver who will provide kick return ability and starred in that role in college. Quicker than fast but does have some juice down the field. Bigger CBs get into his frame easily and disrupt. Wasn't really on the draft radar. (Chris Trapasso)

Luke Wattenberg OL, WASH
Height: 6-5, Weight: 300
Athletic center with balance deficiencies and gets bullied against power too frequently. But a smart decision for Denver to bolster the interior of its front. (Chris Trapasso)

Matt Henningsen DL, WISC
Height: 6-3, Weight: 291
Length, explosion pop on film. Not much else. Hustle is good but doesn't use his hands as weapons as a pass-rusher. This is the type of athlete worth picking late on Day 3. (Chris Trapasso)

Faion Hicks CB, WISC
Height: 5-10, Weight: 192
Raw coverage DB with elite-level testing figures that do pop on film on occasion by way of changing directions. (Chris Trapasso)

I know no one ever visits this sub anymore, but I wanted to just put down some thoughts. #1. I understand all the Hackatt hate so far. Its pathetic how often we can't even get set on offense in time. its one thing to do that in seattle, but how on earth is it a problem at home. #2. this offense at times it way to cute for a team with a running back averaging over 5 yards a carry. Even Melvin Gordon is almost getting 5 yards a carry. #3. I am a little worried about Russell. Not like super worried, but he still has his oh crap no one is immediately open so I better panic dance, but he doesn't have the athleticism to do that anymore. it doesn't help we are already down our #2, #3, and #4 wide receivers. haven't heard a single person mention that. thankfully juedy and Hamler should be coming back fairly soon. #4 I thought the offense against the Seahawks was actually pretty good, but you have to get more then six points on 4 goal line drives. the defense had some really bad drives against the seahawks, but after the last 1 1/2 games they have been elite. the competition gets significantly better the next few games though.
I am simply flabbergasted by this team. The Broncos gave up an exorbitant amount to get Russell in a trade then gave one of the biggest contracts in the NFL with a crap ton guaranteed, to get bottom 5 production right now. I do get that we have a ton of injuries and a new coach/system, but if the broncos would have scored 18 points every single game, we would be 7-2 right now. an 18 ppg average would make us the 27th ranked offense. Instead we are dead last and easily one of the worst offenses in the last decade. do you realize in Mannings last year we averaged 22.2 points a game? This has been so bad that I think if we had a normal owner hackett would already be fired. This is beyond pathetic. the worst part is, that we are going to be stuck with Russell for at least 3 more years and his contract is only going to keep getting bigger and bigger.
man this team is simply just despair. we are stuck with a crap quarterback with a huge salary for at least 3 more years, no first or 2nd round pick, and we at least need a new coach if not a new Gm as well this offseason. at least before I could talk my self into thinking that we were only a qb away. even if we got a qb at this point we owe so much to wilson that it would be hard to build around him.
