Makes sense since he was brought back due to his relationships with a lot of the guys they moved.

I'm glad. Wasn't a bad idea at the time but i'm not any fan of Theo-era hitting development.

Hoyer makes all the right moves usually (so far).

How do the Cards do it? Have have the Dodgers done it? The Cards seem to spend wisely on good players and will develop a good player here and there.

The Yanks seemed to do it with fat wads of cash and just bought people, but they don't behave like they used to 15-20 years ago, I assume due to new CBA rules like luxury taxes and maybe ownership is different too.

The Dodgers seemed to have been able to keep a lot of their good players and buy more.

The Dodgers spend a lot. And are a player development machine.

Kind of what we thought/hoped/were lead to believe the Cubs were going to be.

I wonder if Jed believes in Stone or if he was a Theo hire that Jed would want to move away from at this point.

If Stone is retained I’d guess he’ll have some input into the hitting coach.

It’s probably not fair but I think of this every time I see Justin Stone’s name.

The Dodgers and Yanks both spend, but they also develop talent.

The cards are well run. They draft and develop well. They take advantage of their extra draft picks. They almost always have decent or better players at every spot on the field. They could spend more or be more aggressive sometimes, but they are a solid organization.

Dont really care about Borzello or Hottovy. I'm not sold on Hottovy.
