Only if they plan on really putting a legit playoff roster together by 2023 season, otherwise the first 2 years of his deal will go for naught and he 31 next season.

I still strongly feel the Cubs will be competitive in 2022. And even better in 2022 when some talent starts coming up/getting traded for MLB level talent.

Trayce Thompson flexing his muscles lately
    Grand Slam off Lester

Cubs have hit a ton of homers with this group in the second half

Hey, guys, now that we are locked in to the 7th pick, it's ok for you to win a game or two. Oh, never mind.

The year is almost done for the Cubs so I would like to put it out there that I hope the Ricketts spend some money this off-season, so I can support the team with my time again. No BS'ing but I have now gone 2020 and 2021 without watching a full Cubs game, I hope that doesn't become 2022.

Locked in to the 7thdraft pick. Means we've gone from the best team in MLB in 2016 to the 24th best ( i.e., the 7th worst) in just 5 years. What an achievement, Ricketts family. If to don't spend to be competitive next year, it might be 20 years before your audience returns.
