His value is at an all time low. It would make no sense to trade him.

I don't think trading him at his all time low value is a wise move. We also need starting pitching very, very badly.

The fact they didn't trade him at the deadline, or Contreras, leads me to think they're interested in trying to compete the next 2 years. We don't really need to tank anyways, we have a pretty good farm system now.

Or how about start off the game 6-0 and end up losing 17-13 to the WS.

Manny has the stuff. He's crushed AA and AAA in smaller samples this year. He's got some command/control issues that MLB hitters are getting on right now. He doesn't need to go "back to AA" like one suggested. He does need work this offseason. Likely needs a camp invite and a shot to show improved in zone control in the spring.

I still like Manny as a Jeurys Familia type arm. BP arms suffer from recency bias like no other with the amount a bad outing or 4 can do to a season line. It is what it is. I'd rather he learn on the job in this mess. Hope he can work some kinks out. The stuff is 100% MLB level. It's some of the other things he's got work to do on.

All i've seen from him is some velo. Haven't seen another good pitch from him, but i haven't watched him a ton.

He came up touching 99-100. More recently i;ve seen him go out sometimes around 96-97, and if he has crap control and without another good pitch he's going to suck.

Cubs pitching is so pathetic! Even though I hope they finish low enough in draft position to get a really good pick, I just can't make myself root against them. About all I can say when they lose leads of 7-0 last night and 4-0 tonight, is at least it gets us closer to that really good draft pick.

I don't care if they lose but it is really annoying how often the Brewers seem to will themselves to victory late over us

Part of me wishes they would go back to the AL Central. Things are cyclical. And the Cubs kicking the Brewers butt will happen again. But at this point, watching the Brewers get bounced in the playoffs will have to do.

His cutter/slider is legitimately good. He's got solid spin on it (over 2200 RPM) and has seen his best results (a sub .300 wOBA against this pitch, a 30% whiff rate, .217 BA against). His issue is that his FB, while fast, has been misplaced within the zone and is getting hit. Even at 95-96 it should be a weapon. His issue is zone command with his fastball. If (still a big if) this gets ironed out, he's got MLB 7th/8th inning stuff.

As of right now, his control is going to hold him back. I see him more as a middle relief guy if he makes it to the bigs. He has 5+ years in the system, and he's 25 years old, and still can't throw strikes. I guess he has a nice CB too.
