This was just from the last few pages of this thread.

You can barely put together a cohesive sentence let alone stay on topic. You also want to "stay on topic" but are in complete denial that the topic of texas' abortion law has massive negative consequences for citizens, are completely related to republican hypocrisy of "pro-life", etc.
Honestly, this place used to be modestly entertaining (they may have been completely off the rails, but at least the conservatives like Special, Sluggo, and Bird of Prey were amusing from time to time).

Brett has made it dreary. He’s just plain boring: his posts are repetitive and hollow (not to mention mostly wrong-headed), and his cowardly self-righteousness is so annoying, it isn’t even laughable.

That anyone engages with him is beyond me.

Yup. The vast majority of his posts are completely indistinguishable from each other.

    Texas-Sized Costs

According to the Texas Policy Evaluation Project, within the four months after the Texas abortion ban was implemented in 2021, over 5,500 Texans sought out-of-state abortions compared to about 500 during the same timeframe in 2019. In light of the 2021 laws, 52 companies — including Yelp, Lyft, Ben & Jerry’s, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, and Bumble — criticized Texas’ near-total ban on abortion, stating in an open letter that restrictions on reproductive care will be “bad for business” and hurt workers, customers, and the state’s economy.

Data show that the economic impacts of abortion bans are huge. The IWPR found that the economic loss of abortion restrictions to women and the state economy is $14.5 billion annually in Texas. Studies from the IWPR also show that eliminating abortion bans and restrictions would be beneficial not only to women and birthing people but also to the state economy overall. Eliminating all state-level abortion restrictions would result in over 82,000 women ages 15-44 entering the workforce.

In addition, state earnings would increase as a result of a larger labor force in the absence of abortion restrictions. Hispanic/Latina women would see the highest increase in state earnings — over $190 million annually. For all employed women ages 15-44, estimated earnings would increase by over $14 billion (in 2020 dollars) per year.

The economic impacts of abortion restrictions are substantiated by multiple studies and years of research. The outcomes observed by some of these studies, including reduced female labor force participation, directly impact the overall economic standing of individual states, and the country at large.

This describes the negative economic impact of abortion restrictions in texas.

And how many abortions were done in Texas during those two periods?

    I am sticking.
Look it took you one single reply post to force the conversation elsewhere. Deflect, Duck, Dodge. Congrats.
Shame on me that you might take it seriously. That's on me. My bad. I am sorry.

Yet another post where Brett pretends to describe others he dislikes but the reality is it fits his own approach perfectly.

You asked how many abortions were performed during a time period. That was not a question or comment about the economic losses from the texas abortion ban.

I accept your apology. Now try again little guy.

Yes I have. There was clearly a line of demarcation in which abortion was illegal in various states. How is it abortion on demand when you couldn't get late stage abortions because it was criminal?

Secondly, don't talk about people being so far behind when you refuse to acknowledge all the reasons why people get abortions. Its pathetic and makes your "respect for life" position a complete joke, especially when you factor in all the other stances you take in respect to the death penalty, guns, climate change, etc.

Most of our real All-Star posters like brett05 seem to share this one trait: zero self awareness.

This isn’t surprising sadly. These are also the same folks who say that we should cut foreign aid because we have poor people here but then call aid to citizens socialism.
