Sure Dr, success with that fastball sure caused Sonny’s neck to get sore watching the moonshots into the upperdeck! And 94% of the homeruns he gave up came on the fastball!

No Nick you read it all wrong. He had success before he came to NY, He had success after he left NY. Rothschild tried to change his style. It didn't work.

And I guess Larry was responsible for Gray’s 5.69 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 2016?????

And he is not some super star starter with Cincy as well….

And until the NL adopts the DH the pitchers in the NL have skewed numbers when facing NL teams…..

You all act like he was some huge starter that we missed out on….

I guess it is because of losing Kap….

And, was Sevy under the tutelage of Rothschild?

    Why wasn’t he crap?

He didn't try and make Sevy go away from his FB and use his SL and CU over 50% of the time. When you completely try and change a way a pitcher has pitched since he's been in college, especially mid season, it's going to cause issues.

Why in the hell would you trade for the best starter on the market at the time and as soon as you get him, try to to completely make him a different pitcher. Its idiotic to trade for a successful pitcher, pay a ton for him and immediately try and make his a completely different pitcher. Why would you trade for a guy mid season, who had been incredibly successful , and try and change what he does well.

Gray wasn;t Pineda or Paxton that had things they needed to work on to become complete pitchers. Gray had to go behind Rothschilds back to Cashman to try and change things back to when he was successful. Rothchild was forcing him to pitch in a way that he had never had success doing and you wonder why he struggled.

Dads just fired Larry too, further proving the point he wasn't a good pitching coach.
