I've honestly never watched a team squander so many huge chances early in games. All they do is let pitchers off the hook, then they settle down and dominate the rest of the game. Conforto sucks and Villar has awful stats vs Gray.. guess he's playing since JDs been struggling but that DP killed us.

That is a microcosm of the entire 2021 offense right there.bases loaded no outs....strikeout and a twin killing

This team is just awful in the clutch. Again a pitcher in jeopardy and the Mets choke. Conforto is absolutely useless and should be moved to bat seventh or eighth. Bases loaded no outs the success rate is over 90%. Yet the Mets fail so often it is ridiculous. Not even a sac fly to get a run. You can not make this stuff up.

I blame Comforts. You have to make contact or walk there

Just like the Braves game ir most veterans after a tough first they settle down and get in the zone. Mets as usual show why they really are not that good. Conforto needs to either sit or bat lower in the lineup. He at this point is a liability. Squandering all that good work is just what we see to often with this team.

Conforto almost better off bunting and surprising everybody. That is how bad it has gotten.

It's going to be so nice to have Carrasco in this rotation. Huge.

I think the energy Baez will bring and his familiarity with several of the Mets players will bring instant dividends to this offense

Sounded like he wanted to come here above all other options, so that should mean something.

Gray only threw one strike to Nimmo and he struck him out.
