    Training Camp/Preseason Thread

We can discuss training camp and preseason news here.

It seems like we might be signing Malik Hooker. Itís weird that hasnít been official yet.

I think we also need a solid vet corner but after Nelson signed with the Eagles there arenít many left. I wanted Sherman but obviously thatís not happening anytime soon. Xavien Howard?

I'd like Howard but the Fins will want to much back. I think we will be fine with the corners we have on the roster. I think the biggest difference is going to be Quinn.

It seems he is doing well with them so far. Didnít hear many positive stories about Nolan last year, so thatís gotta be a good sign

Going to be some interesting cuts being made or hopefully trades of some of the players not making the roster, even if they are late round picks. DT, CB, LB, S, WR, & Offensive line all have players that might get us some late round picks

Iím thinking WR is an area of pretty big interest where cuts could be made. I really want to keep Fehoko and Wilson as our 4 and 5 guys. But what to do with Brown then? Do we keep 6?

I also am not sure about the LB spot either. We have so many players there. The have-to-keeps are LVE, Smith, Parsons and Cox. Keanu Neal should be kept too. So thatís 5. Francis Bernard seems like heíd be a special teams ace, so Iíd like to keep him too.

Cooper Rush should get the start next game to see what he can do with a couple of the starters. Rush looked better than Gilbert and DiNucci was well, a 3rd string QB. Dowdle is making them keep 3 RB's. Wright looks good, between him and Joseph I think Brown should be traded.

I doubt we trade or cut Brown. He gives us decent depth there is our only vet CB at this point.

Rush looked OK, Gilbert looked terrible and so did Nooch. They should be looking for someone else to come in. Especially if Dakís shoulder is worse than they are letting on.

Did I miss something, they are saying Gilbert looked good? I thought he was horrible with holding the ball to long and he at least had a couple of starters in the game when he was playing. Rush read the Defense and got rid of the ball a lot faster and was playing with all backups.....

Yeah Iím not sure either. He held the ball so long the line looked bad because of it.

I thought Rush looked a little better but still not great.

Hard Knocks premiered last night. Anybody else check it out?

It seemed pretty basic. Hopefully the next episode will have some more interesting players to follow.

Saints are in desperate need of a CB, I'd offer Brown or Lewis for a 3rd.

I'd probably do it too given how Canady has played in training camp.

Watch enough to know they better do something about a backup QB, Gilbert isn't the answer. Wish they would give Rush a chance. Niswander should make this team over Anger, hell the guy learned in 1 week how to kick field goals plus he's 1 hell of a punter too. Wright is ahead of Joseph as far as playing time.
