Like this is why I dont know what the huge deal about the charters is? I honestly dont know if theres any race this year that more than 40 cars showed up? NC you might know off the top of your head, but I think everyone that showed up for the 500 raced?

Like I get that its guaranteed spot to race every week, but if everyone says they are too expensive just run as an open car.
    YOU JUST MADE THE LIST!!!!!

There were 44 entries for the Daytona 500 - four DNQs - but if my memory serves, there have been 40 or fewer entries for every other race.

The other part of that equation is purse. Open cars get substantially less purse money than chartered cars, and that figure has even been decreased the last couple years from where it started when charters first came in. So you have to spend money to get a charter so you'll have a guaranteed spot, but maybe more so because the purse money is so much greater.

maybe it was last year everyone raced in the 500... or maybe it was a 400, or maybe im losing my mind.

I had no idea cars without charters get less purse money... thats extremely jacked up.
