You also said Springer would be off the board by 20, so might be why you hate the pick...

    LOL, loving this.

I'm really loving the fact that in the last three drafts we walked away with three guys that were projected to go late lottery (Thybulle, Maxey, Springer) later in the first. These types of guys are always going to have flaws, but I love that they are all high effort gritty glue guys. These are the type of guys you need to pick up at this point of the draft.

    Also....hmmmm comp: Marcus Smart....

I was looking at it, almost a 3rd of the league ended up with no picks from last night's draft.

So, I lied it was only 5 not 10. But still, pretty high for how deep of a draft it was.

The Nets somehow ended up making the most selections, with 5 picks.

Having the draft before the FA period was so awesome to me. Yea there were some head scratching picks, but I felt like teams made much better picks taking guys that fit their timeline and most pressing need much better than in the past. I want them to keep this.

It's always been like that in the NBA.

I personally prefer how the NFL construct their offseasons.

Damn, I'm having one of those mornings. I woke up and chose violence.

Maybe the NBA should explore the other way then. Maybe you get more trades, maybe not. Maybe you get better picks because teams are looking for a specific fit, like it seems they were last night. I think the worst part about the NBA draft is so many teams draft on potential and it so rarely works.

Woke up to the strangest twitter whine of the morning:

Raptors bloggers are pissed Springer fell to the Sixers because they thinks it means we won’t trade Simmons and picks to them for Lowry as Springer is “Lowry Jr”.

Yeah, that would be a knock on it, though it may well have been intentional.
