Philadelphia Phillies @ San Francisco Giants - June 18-20

    .........................

PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES (33-33) @ SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS (44-25)

    ORACLE PARK

    Game 1: Friday, June 18th @ 6:45 PM

    VS.
    Vince Velasquez..........Johnny Cueto

    Scouting Report:
Phillies: After struggling in back-to-back starts, Velasquez rebounded last weekend against the Yankees, allowing two runs in five innings. Velasquez has been mostly solid as a starter, posting a 3.95 ERA in nine starts.

Giants: Cueto was charged with the loss after giving up five runs (four earned) over 5 1/3 innings in his last start against the Nationals on Sunday. He is 1-5 with a 5.30 ERA in 12 career starts against the Phillies.

    Game 2: Saturday, June 19th @ 1:05 PM

    VS.
    Aaron Nola..........Alex Wood

    Scouting Report:
Phillies: After posting a 5.68 ERA in six starts, Nola finally got the pitching performance he needed on Sunday against the Yankees. He pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings to sweep New York. It was only the second time the Phillies won a Nola start since May 4.

Giants: Wood picked up his first win since May 16 on Monday, when he fired six innings of two-run ball against the D-backs. He is 3-3 with a 3.36 ERA in 14 career appearances against the Phillies.

    Game 3: Sunday, June 20th @ 1:05 PM

    VS.
    Spencer Howard..........TBD

    Scouting Report:
Phillies: Howard continues to search for more consistency the deeper he pitches into games. He thinks he took a step forward last week against the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. Bailey Falter is expected to follow Howard in the piggyback role as the club continues to monitor the rookie's innings.

    Giants: N/A

Gnarly game so far. So many lead changes. Bullpen keeping the Phillies offense at bay after Wood was getting bombed.

Yeah, Long is looking like a nice solution for the rotation.

It also makes me wonder about what they may have in Sherfy.
