I’d like him in Boston but feel like after Cryrie’s comments we would take too much heat for hiring a “white guy”

Carlisle is a good coach, so no one could really fault the choice. If they would be concerned about the optics maybe Jerry Stackhouse would be a good choice.

Oof, that's bad news. Long time coach and executive both leave. Instant red flags.

Edit: If I'm Luka, I'm waiting a full year before I think about any long term deal with the Mavs. Cuban fell off his rocker.

I really wonder how much of it has to do with Luka. He was going at Carlisle for calling that time out and I saw that as a red flag right away.

Rick is a good coach. I think the Pelicans need to go after him.

Luka IS the problem. He figuratively punched Carlisle and Donnie in the dick like he literally punched Sexton in the dick.

Sounds like Cuban chose Luka over the coach and GM (or whatever Donnie was). Got a full blown diva on our hands.

Luka loved Donnie, knew him before the Mavs days.

I read about the Carlisle tension, but if ol' Bob Voulgaris is still calling the shots it doesn't matter if Luka wants that Jamal dude who lost his wife to Andrew Bynum as head coach.

Yeah, I just lumped Donnie in there a bit too quick. Between Bobby and Luka, it sounds like Cuban lost his long time guys, though.

Unfortunately it seems so, in a way I can see how Luka wouldn't respect a guy who was using lineups and rotations that some professional gambler named Bob was recommending.

This guy never played basketball, never coached basketball, never worked in a front office. He just understands algorithms which NBA transactions and rotations have a human element. This isn't counting cards or beating odds makers, he's a buddy of Cuban's is my assumption.
