Yep and it sucks because last year he hit them very well. He's just back to the lame-*** hitter he's been 80% of the time with us.

I donít know exactly how the rule works but Lindor started running towards the bench and he was called safe . I wonder if Rizzo goes after him and tags him , would he have been out ? Not sure TBH .

There might be an issue with the replay technology, according to SNY

Yeah, can you imagine if you made a guy the highest-paid position player in the game, and he starts with one of the worst offensive seasons for an everyday player? People get excited when that guy becomes a 2 WAR player in a year. Hard to imagine

I mean, I know you're somewhat kidding, but just to be fair to Heyward...he can hit still. He's hit the fastball really well this year. He's got a .343 wOBA against fastballs and has been unlucky; his xwOBA is over .360 on those pitches. He's just fine there. He has a .109 (!?!?!?) wOBA against breaking balls. He just...can't...hit...the slider. This is very new for him; he had a .358 wOBA on breaking pitches last year.

Something happened. I think it had to do with the left leg injury he's had that ****ed with his swing on an overcompensation (his leg hurt, so he tweaked a bit of his swing because of the pain). IDK what the problem is, and he needs to figure it out; the league clearly has (he's getting 30% breaking pitches right now, and he can't do dick with them except flail. He's whiffed on 47% of breakers). The Cubs are too good too just let him work through this; if they can find a way to upgrade him...he needs to find the bench. Right now they have little to no option; with Hoerner hurt, Marisnick shouldn't be counted on as a starter (his .361 BABIP is .60 points too high, and his barrel% is double his career. He's going to come back to Earth), and Happ the only other semi-competent OF option...Heyward's going to get playing time. But one of two things needs to happen in the next 30 days:
    1. Heyward remembers to hit breaking balls like he's shown
    2. The Cubs find a replacement.
