    Zack Wheeler

How good would he look in a Mets uniform today? DeGrom, Walker, Stroman and Wheeler.

He struck out 12 today and is pitching to a 2.29 ERA . I think he is leading the NL in strikeouts.

Was it Brody or Alderson's decision not to re-sign him , or was Wilpons ?

Always thought he was a case of paying for potential and saw him as a Patrick Corbin comp in terms of salary but he’s been much better and worth the contract.

He was always good with the Mets and I’ve always liked him. Never really believed in the whole ‘half a season’ pitcher, I just thought he needed time to adjust, much like Walker.

I would’ve much rather the Mets have kept him but I understood their thinking when Stroman was acquired. Mets should’ve just kept the ‘super rotation’ of deGrom, Wheeler, Syndergaard, Matz and Stroman. Granted if that were the case, Walker probably wouldn’t be on the team, maybe the Lindor/Carrasco trade doesn’t include Carrasco. Who knows, butterfly effect is a weird thing.

Anyways, I’m rooting for Zack’s success. I hope every other pitcher on that team implodes and their offense can’t do anything about it, though.

The Wilpons are a bunch of cheap scumbags. Wheeler's stuff alone was worth the 118 million the Phillies paid him. It makes you realize how lucky we are to have ownership who is willing to invest in quality major league talent. Say what you will about Lindor but I would rather go down swinging than not trying and the Mets didn't try with Zack.

    Brody was a fool.
His comments towards Zack was unprofessional. But Wheeler is a Philly now, so I hope he loses every start he makes.

It was foolish but you're not selling me on the idea that the decision came from Brodie not to sign Wheeler. That has the Wilpons stench all over it.

The most impressive thing about Zack is his ability to decrease his walks per 9 every year since 2017. Again, I root against him now.

I always thought Wheeler would be the best of the bunch, but I was wrong still this is something I though he could do.

Anyways too bad he is gone because of the previous cheap owners.

It's infuriating knowing that Wheeler would likely be a Met if Cohen had taken over one year earlier.

It was definitely a Wilpon move but Brodie shouldn’t have made the comments he did. A ******** answer like “we’re more comfortable with the options we have in house” would’ve been far more sufficient.

Jake is on the brink of becoming an all-time great. But he is better than the other 3.

    Yes, but no Stroman.

They traded for Stroman because they thought they had a shot still.

Doubt that a Walker would of been here if they had that depth even after trading for Carrasco.
