Stevens is going to replace Ainge

Head coach Brad Stevens is transitioning from his coaching position to becoming the franchise's new head of basketball operations, replacing longtime president Danny Ainge, who is also expected to step down, per The Athletic's Shams Charania. Stevens will reportedly lead the search for Boston's new head coach.

seems kinda weird that Stevens is stepping down/up as a coach.

Yeah, that's why nobody watches him and there are not people trying to be SAS all over sports.

Don't get me wrong, I hate that stuff, but no question it works to get viewers.

Yeah, that's really odd. I did a double take when I saw ESPN's headline. I was wracking my brain trying to think of a head coach that moved to more of a GM role in the past, and I honestly couldn't think of one. It's such a different role completely from coaching.

It will be really interesting to see how this experiment plays out, but I do agree from the sentiment of others here that it was time to move on from Ainge. Dude made some great moves in his time with the franchise, but his inability to pull a trigger on a deal to make the Celtics the best squad in the East has been a pretty big disappointment.

But people know that everything he does, and says is for the effect, and no one views him as a respected analyst. Heís just loud and obnoxious and people like to laugh at him. Heís the human version of click bait. Itís general consensus SAS is a total Jack *** lol

Is anyone really surprised? The guy still thinks this is 2008. Besides that this organization hasnít been championship worthy since Pierce, Garnet, Allen and Rondo were there. Only thing that sucks is Stevens goes from HC to President of the team something I and others probably donít fell comfortable about.
