Austin Martin is the #16 prospect in all of baseball. That's like Francisco Alvarez and Matthew Allan package from us and it prob doesn't beat it

SWR is the 68th ranked prospect now. Andy is an idiot.

    What a ****ing moron.

Yea **** that. Free agent after next year. Berrios got a better return I think than Scherzer and Turner considering how long their contracts have left. Difference is that Dodgers are heavily favored now.

Think we're gonna do nothing, although Cubs still are dumb to hold onto Bryant, Baez, and even Kimbrel at this point

Eh. Mlb pipeline hasn't updated their rankings in a while. He hasn't been good this year. I think that's what he means

Berrios isn't the same level as Scherzer and Turner though. But agreed this is a kings ransom. Shocked.

Andy raises a good point. His value must not be high if they had to add Wilson also just to get Berrios. Imagine you had to give the #16 and #68 prospect in same trade for a borderline 2-3 just because he isn't a rental. That means SWR stock has fallen as they couldn't go with a lesser prospect. And his stock must have fallen if they're ok giving him even tho Wilson is a top prospect in baseball

It is like saying Matthew Allan isn't enough so we will add Alvarez. Or Alvarez alone isn't good enough so we gotta add Allan instead of Ginn or a lesser name.

    Trade Rumors

Save the anger until after the deadline, there’s still time

As much as I loved Berrios, Mauricio and Allen/Ginn is too much.

and like stated above, if the Mets were to do anything they would have done it already. Alderson went into his stubborn vapor lock and decided to stay pat. Of course, he will blame it on the "baseball people" that makes it look like Zack Scott's fault. But we have seen this for too long when it comes to Alderson, regardless of who the owner is and regardless of who his "baseball people" are. Perhaps we should not entertain trade discussions regarding Alvarez and perhaps Baty and Ginn. But the rest of the top 10 prospects should be traded bait, including Mauricio since he will never be a shortstop with this team while Lindor is around. Obviously no one has interest in Allan, PCA or Szapucki since they are on the shelf for the rest of the year. But Lee, Ramirez and Vientos should be totally available and anyone beyond our top 10 should always be available.

I don't like Alderson. His predecessor was a much better evaluator of talent and wasn't afraid to make a move. Of course I am speaking about Omar. BVW made some great moves and one bad one. Letting Wheeler go was due to Jeffy of course.

So what do we have on this team right now (and even just as important the top 10 prospects) that was done during BVWs brief 2 year tenure: J.D., Stroman, Edwin Diaz, Familia coming back, Francisco Alvarez, Allan, Baty, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Ginn, and Alex Ramirez. What is left on this team from Alderson's previous tenure (so not including 2021 but including top 10 prospects are: Mauricio, Szapucki and Khalil Lee. And finally who is on this team as a result of Minaya:

Fangraphs has him ahead of Groshan and Kirk.
He has a FV of 50.

He had a bad month before going over to the Olympics.

Judging a prospect on such a small sample size is moronic.

Also Toronto had the 6th best farm system in baseball.

The Rays are talking with the Cubs about both Bryant and Craig Kimbrel, tweets Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Rosenthal notes that the Cubs may not necessarily package the two together, and a deal does not appear to be close.
The Mets and Cubs “remain apart in Kris Bryant talks,” tweets Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

Coincidentally, JD has been the best hitter in a limited sample size and Stroman is currently the ace of the club, while deGrom is out.

Diaz was not what he was expected to be and shouldn’t be a closer considering the closer IMO is an archaic and outdated concept but he’s not a terrible reliever by any means.

Kelenic has been terrible but that’s not even worth discussing considering his value was completely undersold.

BVW was not a good GM but he did make some good moves - some that are helping the team today. Still, it’s not like Sandy has been a godsend to this franchise.
Blake Taylor was traded for MARISINIK and god he was GREAT last year and has been very good this year. Dunn (and Kelenic) was traded for Cano and Diaz. Dunn would have been a god send at this point this year and had 5 more years of team control ... SWR and Kay got Stroman (but he could has just been signed as a FA) but still that was a good deal in hindsight. JD was a good trade but you are acting like we traded the players I mentioned for good things, just the Stroman trade applied to what I wrote. You totally ignored the payroll piece as well which will put us over the luxury tax and while you don't care about Cohen's money he does and it will greatly impact the teams thinking.

Wait trading Black Taylor and lefty that throws 96 and gets lefties and righties out and had a 206 ERA + last seaon for Marisnick, a below replacment level player that is readily availble to just sign for the minimum wasn't only a bad trade? It was a great one?

I still can't get over anyone defending that clown.
