De'Andre Hunter out for the remainder of the season and will get surgery on his lateral meniscus tear.

Both those guys seem to help with have a little more defensive versatility

Be prepared, Morey is a gun slinger and doesn’t sit on his hands if/when his team gets eliminated.

That’s a good sell. I wonder if Embiid will buy it.

It all comes down to Embiid being happy and deciding to re-up with the 6ers. Ultimately it will be his call and I do think Simmons will play a big factor in that decision.

Again we know Simmons is a great defender but at that price tag he will need to be much more.

All star game is a popularity contest. The rest of it just highlights what a great defender he is which we already acknowledged.

It’s not in a negative context. What I’m getting at here is that if the 6ers fall short of their goal this season I think Morey will flip Simmons in to a supporting cast that will help the 76ers and Embiid get over the hump.

Reason being is because Embiid only has one year left on that contract and so I think it’s Moreys chance to make a move. I think this is the year we see Simmons get shopped in the off-season for a nice haul. It’s not a knock on Philly or Embiid, I’m just saying that Simmons could be the odd man out because Morey won’t sit on his hands for anything less than a ship, and Embiids contract situation might force Morey to make that call sooner than later.

Again. Not news. And I think you are making something out of nothing with the might leave thing because Embiid has never seen a peep. But you are kinda missing what my point was; which is GMs around the league still hold a high opinion of him and any deal with him in it will bring back someone much more valuable than fans think he’s worth. Just look at the response to him generating 126.8points/100possesions with the team shooting 55.4% or that as the primary defender Trae has 4 points and 4 assists; it’s like that doesn’t matter at all. Yet pre-series the talk was how to defend Trae and how unstoppable he was.

I fully expect Morey to move someone or multiple someone’s this offseason. It’s gonna happen. But the what comes back is going to be polarizing on this forum if it’s Ben.

Maybe GMs are sucker enough to think Ben shut down Young and was responsible for the Sixers offensive success in game two. I doubt it

Exactly. They can get really small and pretty soft at times, especially, with Collins at center

I’m not claiming that this is breaking news. I’m just saying based on Embiids impending free agency and Moreys gun slinging style, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ben was shopped. I only say Ben because he has the most value, and if you’re gonna move anyone it will likely be him due to his short comings on the offensive end, + the fact that you’ll get the most return for him.

To be completely honest I don’t see why that’s a bad thing…. Simmons is a good piece but his lack of shooting in this era could prevent him from being a key piece on a title contender. I guess this is his post season to prove it. But if it doesn’t pan out it’s nice to know there’s a guy that can flip him in to something that will.

The talk is still about how to defend Young. In two games Ben has played 37 and 35 mins. He's been on the floor most of the time. In those two games Young is averaging 28 and 10. I think the Sixers have the length to give him problems and Ben is a big part of that but Ben has not shut him down.
