Texas lawmakers approve carry of handguns without license, background checks, etc

Wtf is wrong with Texas? Are they not seeing all these mass shootings every week?

They seem to see the US being responsible for like 3/4 of all worldwide mass shootings as a challenge.

Oh, why not. It is people who are the problem, not guns. so let's make it easier for them to sling a gun around.

Reading other articles. Apparently 5 other states have approved of the same legislation this year. We live in one dumb country.

I just realized this is also a form of voter suppression. One of the types of acceptable voter ID in Texas is your Handgun License.

    It all comes full circle.

So you can catch a fine or charge in most states for marijuana which has the power to kill no one, but you can carry a gun with no form or background check or anything which has the power to kill until you run out of bullets. What a great country!

which doesn't actually suppress anything, just gives gun owners another form of ID

You guys know that to get the hand gun in the first place you have to pass a background check right? What's the point of making them pass another background check just to carry the gun around?

You have to provide the documents you get asked to present when you register to vote each time you vote. But itís strange why that is ok?

Awesome job Texas. An armed population is always the biggest hurdle for tyrannical goverments.

I more worry about the tyrannical person carrying a gun with low impulse control, easily agitated, having a bad day. Or how we had incidents where people were emboldened by carrying a gun thus escalating incidents that otherwise they wouldn't have. People using stand your ground to cover for murder.

Plus, with the high uptick in violence from the mass shootings, attacks on Asians, a few police acting up, gang violence, road rage, one would think making guns harder to get would be smart, especially for people prone to violence or are mentally unstable. But no, that would be infringing on one's right even if they never had that right, to begin with. "Open & Carry or "liberal conceal carry laws"

Finally, why oh why should lose our common sense to cater to gun owners' fanasty? Open carry, conceal and carry, armed protest, armed while taking over state capitol building, armed while eating at Wendy.

We get it, you have the right to bear arms, but a return to the wild west where people walked around strapped to take a crap, come on.

It's just another form of population control. Perhaps they can get a few more 4 year olds shot on the interstate? Hmmm. Investigating those does cost taxpayer dollars. Maybe they will make shooting kids legal?
