It's a fine move. He provides stability if nothing else and is a top tier backup. They probably aren't paying him much.

[NFL Update] Teddy Bridgewater has been traded twice in his career and both times were because of Sam Darnold. 2018: #Jets trade Bridgewater in training camp after using No. 3 overall pick on Darnold. 2021: #Panthers trade Bridgewater after acquiring Darnold from the #Jets.

So in 2 years, Darnold to the Broncos.
    Dak: 17,634 @ 66.0%, 7.7 per att, 106+24 TD, 40 INT+34 FMB, 97.3 Rate
    Wentz: 16,811 @ 62.7%, 6.7 per att, 113+8 TD, 50 INT+58 FMB, 89.2 Rate

[Pellisero] Carolina will pay a portion of Bridgewaterís 2021 compensation as part of a restructured contract to finalize the deal to Denver, which now has competition for Drew Lock Ö and options with the No. 9 pick.

And perhaps most interesting of all... does this kill the rumor of the Panthers trading #8 to NE?

Or if the Panther's QB gets taken, are they trading back with NE?

It may make the Panthers a little more likely to take a QB, but I also firmly believe they are locked in with Darnold this year. It's more likely to me that they trade out and recoup some value from that trade than it is they take likely #4 or #5 on their list. Just a lot of holes on that roster and if Darnold tanks your right back near the top of the draft next year.

I think the Broncos know for sure that the QB they want is not going to be available -- #7 or #8 trade out?

I personally donít think this changes anything for the Broncos or Panthers. Broncos could easily still take a QB. Bridgewater is a good bridge (no pun intended) to have while grooming a young QB.

And if Fields is still on the board at 8 I fully expect the Panthers and Patriots to make a trade.

The complicated thing with the Broncos is how they feel about Drew Lock. Did they get Bridgewater to back him up or have seen enough of him? I donít think Bridgewater is there to be a starter

but he might be there as a placeholder for a rookie QB they draft tomorrow

Lololololol, the fact that we got anything after the way everything fell apart is impressive.
