Fauci has served under every President since Carter, and not once was he accused of being partisan. All this slander of Fauci seems to be Trump’s patented if you’re not with me you’re a liberal socialist member of the deep state propaganda.
I'm not accusing him of being partisan and never have.
GoF is ideological because, in his field, it's a highly contentious issue. Something can be a highly contentious issue in a field, and you can have people acting to promote what they believe to be true without it being politically partisan.
Take string theory, for instance, that's a contentious issue in physics, but you and I don't give a ****. A professor or government official in physics who has a strong opinion about the subject is going to try to steer grant money towards funding research of the position that they support. That's ideological. That's what Faucci does, and has done.

The crazy thing to me is the knee-jerk defense of an unelected public official whose decisions and suggestions have an immediate and real-world impact on our health and daily lives.
Fauci directly LIED to the American people about the effectiveness of masks during the outbreak of the pandemic, considering how exponents work, the amount of spread, illness, and death would have been SIGNIFICANTLY lower had he not done that, irrespective of Trump, we would have been in a much better position if he hadn't done that.

SINCE WHEN are we not allowed to criticize our public officials for the decisions that make with our tax dollars. The dude went against rules put in place by the Obama admin so he could fund GoF research. Why shouldn't he be criticized for that or any other decision he makes?

The only lie here is yours. He spoke when we had less information about the pandemic and specifically how the disease is transmitted.

We've known for a LONG time about the efficacy of masks, countries in Asia have known this forever, and they didn't have any problem telling their citizens to use masks during the early days of the pandemic. They didn't have any access to information that Faucci didn't.

All this goes back to my above question...

So my theory that the media wrongly declared the lab leak theory *debunked* for over a year due to partisanship and general hackery was totally made up by me and not true....yet...here's the Washington Post, CORRECTING a story from last year.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...us-conspiracy/

Where they write in the correction.
    CORRECTION
Earlier versions of this story and its headline inaccurately characterized comments by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) regarding the origins of the coronavirus. The term “debunked” and The Post’s use of “conspiracy theory” have been removed because, then as now, there was no determination about the origins of the virus.
On top of that one of the experts cited in the original version to *prove* that the lab leak theory wasn't true, is actually one of the biggest proponents FOR the lab leak theory and he was WILDLY mischaracterized.

You know, for a conspiracy theory about the media ****ing up royally that I created on my own with no evidence to back it up...The Media keeps correcting A LOT of their work from the past year for being wrong...it's almost like I didn't create this theory, and this theory about the media being garbage has been correct.

If you comb the Internet for examples of something you will find them. Also why didn’t they apologize for calling everyone who believed the theory a racist xenophobe? There was no industry wide conspiracy to reject the theory bc somehow doing so would make Trump look worse. it has been generally been referred as “less likely” and not “debunked”.

Eventually if you let conspiracy theories go they will always fall in on themselves as easily disproven once you stop letting the crazy assumptions go that underpin them.
