San Diego Padres @ San Francisco Giants - May 7-9

    .........................

SAN DIEGO PADRES (18-14) @ SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS (18-13)

    ORACLE PARK

    Game 1: Friday, May 7th @ 6:45 PM

    VS.
    Blake Snell..........Anthony DeSclafani

    Scouting Report:
Padres: ďIím doing OK, but thereís always better,Ē Snell said of his last start, and that sums up his season. The left-hander hasn't quite kicked it into gear, but he's still posted a 3.51 ERA with 13 strikeouts per nine innings.

Giants: DeSclafani didnít allow a hit over his final four innings against the Padres in his last start Saturday. He departed after throwing 76 pitches in six innings. He has a 2.00 ERA over his first six starts with the Giants.

    Game 2: Saturday, May 8th @ 1:05 PM

    VS.
    Joe Musgrove..........Kevin Gausman

    Scouting Report:
Padres: After a brilliant start to the season, Musgrove has sputtered a bit in his last two outings. He's allowed eight runs in eight innings -- after he'd allowed just three in his first 26 frames this year. Still, his elite whiff rate remains intact.

Giants: Gausman held the Padres to one run -- a home run by Fernando Tatis Jr. -- over six innings to pick up his second win of the season in his last start Sunday before hitting the COVID-related IL.

    Game 3: Sunday, May 9th @ 1:05 PM

    VS.
    TBD..........Johnny Cueto

    Scouting Report:
    Padres: N/A

Giants: Cueto, who has been on the 10-day injured list since April 16 with a Grade 1 lat strain beneath his right shoulder, is expected to be activated for Sundayís game. The veteran posted a 1.80 ERA over three starts before the injury.

Friday Orange a winner. Glad to see Slater getting good swings. Posey is just too tough.

A Gausman gem, looking for the hat trick.

    *fingers crossed*

Lock up Gausman, give Posey a two-year deal, get one of Story, Seager, or Bryant. Conforto, Bundy, and Stroman would be on my wish list as well. Not that we'd get them all of course.

Wouldnít mind Seager. With money coming off the books, itís hard to judge. Would think they would want to make as big a splash as possible. Get back into contention.

    I'd take that over 2017-2020.

I feel like we're close to the point where you advocate we go in to sell mode and try moving Gausman, Posey, DeScalafini, Cueto, Wood, etc.

Hard coming off the IL and being in a groove. Just watched Anderson from the Crew get off the IL and didnít look great.
