It's great to see Seigler having a resurgent year. I could see him having a Higashioka-like career trajectory, and there's nothing wrong with that. Switch hitters often take longer to develop with the bat, especially when they have dealt with injuries. Maybe he ends up like Higashioka but with a better bat. That would be a great outcome. I'm hoping the Yankees get at least one solid major league catcher out of Breaux, Wells, and Seigler. Gomez is a little behind right now but again, catchers do seem to lag behind with the bat development so I'll give him time.

I have zero clue why Waldichuk is ranked that low. Later round pick out of a small college?
Since the start of last yr he's done nothing but dominate at every level they've had him.

I believe it was baseball prospectus that had him in the 40ish range which is about right IMO

The Yankees have signed RHP Richard Rodriguez. Last season, while pitching for the Pirates and Braves, he compiled a 2.94 ERA (4.04 FIP) over 64.1 innings with a 16.7% K and 4% BB rate. His ground ball rate was a not-so-appealing 31%.

All the numbers above essentially go against what the Yankees look for. He doesn’t miss many bats. He doesn’t generate a lot of ground balls. However, there is no such thing as a bad minor league contract. He is far down the totem pole, so he’s depth for the time being.

Oh, why hasn’t he pitched this season? Because he was suspended 80 games for failing a PED test.

Sweeney is 15-for-18 in the stolen base department. This breaks his 7-game hitting streak, but he still caused havoc from the leadoff spot.

Bowman joins Anthony Volpe in the 3o+ stolen base club. Others will join them. This is not a fluke – Bowman’s ability to steal bases is on the scouting report. He is now 45-for-50 in 94 minor league games.
CF Everson Pereira: 1-for-4, 2B (12), 3 RBI, BB, 2 K, SB (16)
Amidst all the baserunning, Pereira provided a big blow – a bases-clearing double. He is at .263/.343/.425 in 300 PA (12 doubles, 5 triples, 7 HR, 36 RBI, 49 R, 31 BB, 82 K, 16-for-21 SB). Entering this season, he was 15-for-20 stealing bases in 108 games.
C Anthony Seigler: 1-for-4, RS, BB, 4 SB (9)
Seigler entered 2022 with two stolen bases in four attempts over 95 games. This season, between here and Tampa, he is 14-for-15 in 54 games.
3B Tyler Hardman: 0-for-4, BB, 2 K
1B Eric Wagaman: 1-for-4, RS, BB, 2 K
RF James Nelson: 0-for-3, 2 BB, SB (16)
DH Carlos Narvaez: 2-for-3, 2B (7), RBI, 2 RS, HBP, SB (4)

An under-the-radar .248/.359/.481 season for Palensky, who has eight doubles and seven home runs in 47 games.

RHP Matt Sauer: 4.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, HR
3.39 ERA (71.2 IP, 54 H, 32 R, 27 ER, 6 HR, 25 BB, 85 K). I will say it again: Rule 5 guy. Hasn’t yet pitched in the upper minors. The kind of pitcher Brian Cashman may dangle in deals.
LHP Edgar Barclay (W, 4-2): 3.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K
1.08 ERA (33.1 IP, 20 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 0 HR, 10 BB, 42 K). He allowed seven home runs in 77.1 innings last season. There hasn’t been much of a change in his GB% or FB% from last season, so he was probably a little unlucky last year and a bit lucky this season. Bottom line? He should get to Somerset soon enough.

I was told the reason why Flo and Andujar didn't play last night is because they we're facing a rehabbing Chris Sale.

If they did well against Sale in front of the Boston scouts, it would give Boston an advanced scouting report of what and how to pitch to those guys when it really counts

If they had gone out and struggled horribly against Sale it could impact their trade value. Teams would point back at that game and use it as an indicator of how they would do against a true TORP

Weird. If they were bad vs Sale, isn't everyone supposed to be? Including MLB hitters?

Day, I think Gallo goes on a run and we are stuck with him for the year, including when he falls back to earth and his 170/320/400/720 with a million Ks.

So Flo and Andujar will be only moved for pitching

I'm thrilled for Gallo he had a good night. I am bummed for Yankees' fans because it will give the FO an excuse to keep him.
