Couldnít start soon enough. We need to see some young guys play to see if we can find an OFer that can help us while we are dealing with these injuries. 2.5 of our opening day projected starting OFers are on the Fritz!

Thatís gonna hurt. All we can do is see if we can win or stay afloat with the ďnext guy upĒ, and if we need to, make a move at the deadline or before, and hope we can get one or both of Eloy and Luis back for the playoffs.

Do we have value to trade for a upper mid level OF? I am not sure we do anymore in the minors.

We could probably overpay with volume, but our Prospects have limited value right now, after subpar 2019s and no 2020. We really need to have our position players get off to good starts this season to try to build some value, and hope they are worth something at the deadline.

Or, we may have to take on a bad salary and choke it down to not give away to much player wise.

I don't have any confidence in our position players. I think you're last point is right on. We need to eat a bad contract to land a good player to come along side.

I mean it sort of is. Our minor league system is pretty lack luster. It's got depth, just lots of poor under performing untradeable depth

    Promising news on the farm:

We are working Sheets in the OF and he is producing hitting.

Rutherford is also hitting pretty good so far.

    Engel started his rehab assignment.

OF help is on the way, and we have some potential depth in case anyone goes down.

That's nice to see! I'd imagine when he gets the call, Mendick gets sent down. Vaughn/Engel/Eaton OF with Leury back to UTIL IF/OF and BHam the late defense/pinch runner.

As much as I like what Mendick has done, I think he will be the victim on Lambís LH bat.

Agreed, Lamb has been solid lately. He isn't getting a crap ton of AB's, and he started really cold, but he's walking at a high rate, and he's had a few timely big hits of late.
