GT#63 Chicago Bulls (26-35) @ Más divino Knicks (34-28): Start a new streak

The Knicks are no longer looking back on their losses, they're just setbacks to a bright future.

    Random Thoughts:

    1. Less is More (?): The Bulls improved to 4-3 w/o Zach Lavine who tested positive for COVID. It'll be interesting to see how fortunes will favor the Bulls moving forward. After the loss to the Suns, the Knicks are looking for a secondary scoring option in case Julius Randle is triple teamed. If the Bulls do well w/o Lavine, it could be the sliver of hope for the Knicks to land the multi-talented guard.

    2. Second unit better than first (?): Quietly RJ Barrett has been kept out on the court and playing with the second unit consisting of Rose, Quickley, Toppin, and Gibson. It has helped him, get in a rhythm. Last night Broadway Barrett played 45 min, he went on a good tear in the 2nd quarter. It has really helped get the looks. No coincidence, RJ gets more points with an actual point guard in Derrick Rose.

    3. Shh...Obi Improving: It's safe to say the Knicks have given up on Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox. Now that their record is 10-6 w/0 Mitchell Robinson, I'm wondering if he'll be around or packaged with draft picks to acquire a bigger piece. Having said that, Obi Toppin has played well with Derrick Rose at the point. That's the key. A legit point guard. After whiffing in so many drafts, one can only hope the Knicks acquire one because there's no shot of acquiring one in this draft.

    4. To good Health: The Knicks have really benefitted from good health. Their work horses haven't missed a game and that's a huge leg up on the competition. Think Thibs and Kenny Payne should be credited again and again.

    Knicks should beat these chumps.

Alec Burks remains in Covid-19 protocols, ruling him out for home stand finale tomorrow vs. Bulls. He’s past standard ten-day quarantine now.

From earlier: NYK is playing games that matter in the final 3 weeks of the season. That hasn’t happened since '13-'14. So the club deserves a ton of credit for getting to this point. The rest of NYK's schedule is difficult; it ranks 6th in opponent win %:

RJ Barrett on the playoffs being a reasonable goal heading into the season:

"A reasonable goal for who? We want more. We work hard for what we're doing, we deserve everything"

Love this RJ quote! He's a dawg!! Knicks shouldn't take this Bulls game easily, they just beat the Heat. I hope Rose puts an encore against his former team.

I never rule anything out. The Knicks should win. Their strength are these athletic forwards who can play either position. However Chicago has a history of giving the Knicks fits even when the Knicks own every card.

not saying CHI is better without Lavine, but he's clearly not the impact player his counting stats would suggest he is.

To be fair, they are 3-4 without him this year, so it isn’t any different. Also, it isn’t as easy as that. Just need the right situation for the right players. Like say Booker. Kept hearing about how he couldn’t win. Seems now he can. People were saying that about AD too.

never heard that, kid was like 22 and PHO was already respectable and he always had a very good NET rating.

Everyone here was saying that. When it was thought we might try for him. Phoenix has not even come close to being respectable, until last season

And Lavine hasn’t had the best situations. The Bulls have been far from a model organization lately

yea and he was 22/23 last year. it's not like he was a 7 year player who never made the playoffs or anything. I would never have said you can't win with Booker. that's pretty absurd.

but again, not even saying you cant win with Lavine, just saying his impact isn't what his counting stats would suggest.
