    Florida Anti Riot Bill

If you get time try to look over the new "anti-riot" bill that was passed in Florida. Or the press conference where it gets signed. Where I kid you not the police chief says "this is what Florida is all about to any of you moving here"while holding up 2 pictures of Disney world. The goes on to say not to come if you plan to vote for Dems.

Now the press conference comes off as an SNL sketch. Making Florida seen unwilling to relinquish its hold on being the biggest joke in America. But the bill itself is actually a terrifying display of anti first ammendment garbage.

It looks like it'll more than likely get torn apart by the Supreme Court but here are a few examples of what it includes.

    1. A gathering of 3 or more people can be labeled a riot.
    2. If they are blocking the road and you feel frightened it is ok to run them over with a car.
    3. Civil immunity for people who drive their car into crowds (no matter if frightened or not). But not criminal immunity.
    4. Anyone participating in a "riot" could be facing up to 5 years in prison with no chance of bail till they've had at least one court appearance.

Funny how the pro first ammendment people are quite silent.

    evidence where?

to say that simply a gathering of 3 or more people doing literally anything is a riot, seems like a real stretch and can't be true.

Among the new crimes spelled out by the sweeping measure are “aggravated rioting,” a felony, and a “mob intimidation,” a first-degree misdemeanor in which three or more people use violence or the threat of it to change someone’s views.

Willfully participate in a violent public disturbance involving three or more people
Initially, DeSantis wanted to make it a crime for a protester to harass or intimidate someone at a restaurant or other public place. The law now makes it a first-degree misdemeanor for a group of three or more protesters to use violence or the threat of violence to try changing someone's point of view. The crime is punishable by a jail term of up to one year and fines of up to $1,000.

    not simply three people gathering.

    same article..
On Monday, the governor signed the bill into law — albeit with some changes. The state won't grant immunity to drivers who run over protesters blocking traffic, as originally proposed.

You are conflating 2 different parts of the bill.

Never said anything about "simply 3 people gathering".

Florida doesn't give a **** about your first amendment rights and the Supreme Court will rubber stamp this **** for them.

I love the wide interpretation that police, local officials, and private citizens can use with this law. These laws are a "60'' southern law official wet dream. That ability for a citizen to drive their cars through a demonstration is the "fear for my life" excuse for citizen

I quoted exactly what you said.

"A gathering of 3 or more people can be labeled a riot."

that is not true. there is more to it than that.

Plus they have that "stand your ground" law as well. You drive through a demonstration firing your gun because you are fearful for life. Might be overblown, but considering the number of people who used the stand your ground law wrongly, according to the courts, you know there will be similar problems with these laws.

Special should haul his trusty Merriam-Webster and give us the definitions of both like he routinely does
