i had the game on but muted, totally missed it

then I watched the replay, missed it again

it was like the commercial with the guy ironing a shirt and repeatedly missing the scene

Victor Reyes, first pinch hit inside the park HR since 1976

edit: 1st for Detroit, still impressive

also, good to see Manning have a good outing

I'm really looking forward to the Tigers (potentially) signing a real shortstop. Short and Castro X2 just won't cut it.

man, Z Short came out the gate hard, then bottomed out fast, his defense is nice, but his bat is nonexistent

I wouldn't mind keeping him around as a bench option, but yeah the non-existent bat isn't outweighed by okay defense.

So, Big Mig is the first player since 1952 to get a hit in 9 straight PAs, how in the world is this man still getting it done

he looked totally washed at the start of the year

He's just a slow singles hitter now. But I still love him.

Lose to the Pirates, beat the Rays.

Lesson learned: If this Tigers team plays a jabroni expect them to get their *** kicked, if they play a contender this team rises to the occasion.

Idunno if anyone is still watching these games but damn, up 4-1 in the 9th it looked like Soto got smoked with a line drive to the head. He looked dazed and disoriented. Like, a legit scary situation.

Replay showed he blocked the liner with his hand and glove, so it never hit his head, whew! But it hit his pitching hand, and we left him in anyway.

He couldn't get anyone out after that (shocker) and we lost in extras

was anyone else watching that live? that looked so bad at first

I caught the replay, it could have been worse for him but thankfully it was only the hand.

Baseball's 3 batter rule screwed the Tigers there because Soto had to pitch to at least 3 batters before he was removed. Clearly the hand was affecting him but apparently the injury wasn't bad enough to be removed.
