I donít know what is dumber at this point. These hitters turning into complete **** (these same hitters won a WS ffs and have now regressed all at the same time) or the FO not doing more to make trades to send them away in the last 1-2 years.

Iíd say no, especially with someone making their 3rd MLB appearance. That pitch really looked like it got away from Steele

Then again, I thought the same of Tepera and he admitted to it.

Just read over on the Yankees f orum that the Cubs are now 7 for 81 with
runners in scoring position this year. Their point being that as bad as the Yankee hitters have been,it could be much, much worse (as evidenced by the Cubs hitters.)

But, just think how nice that Top 5 pick will be in 5 years time.

They weren't trading Rizzo, so the only ones that they could of traded were Schwarber KB and Javy and I'm guessing the thought process there after 2019 was extend or possibly move them at the deadline in 2020 before Covid...
Then with all having terrible seasons and being 1 year rentals, they probably didn't get much of an offer for them over the offseason, so now it see what they can get at this deadline or just let them become FA and get a comp pick for them

God i hope not. Im gonna be a little optimistic because i do like the way the farm system is shaping up. Im thinking top 5 next year and maybe the year after but 2024 could be really interesting.

Typical Cubs rally-K,BB,K,BB,BB,K. 6 batters, zero balls put into play. Now 7-82 with runners in scoring position.

At least we will get something in the end. A compo pick and money coming off the books is better than nothing.

Like you, I will optimistic in the farm system, too. The club does have lots of interesting prospects. See what the next 2 years bring and spend money sensibly.
