This teams hitting approach is ****ing trash. Swinging out of their cleats at junk and staring at pitches in middle of strike zone or weakly making contact on those pitches.

That was rough. We were bad all the way around.

After, 3 games, it looks like this team isn't too different from last year's or 2019's. Bad defense, bad relief pitching, bad offense with respect to RISP. The only common denominators in all 3 years need to be in the microscope now.

That would include Diaz, Familia, Betances and Gsellman in the bullpen. That would include Conforto, Smith, Alonso, Nimmo, Guillorme, Nido and Davis in the offense (and Davis, Smith and Alonso are double dippers because they each make our defense weaker.

Lindor is only one person. If he hits .500 with a 1.300 OPS the Mets will not win 1 game without the other players. Maybe the Mets need to reconsider moving some of the common denominator. I understand that 3 days do not make a season, but we've watched this debacle for more than 2 years. Maybe we don't break the bank for Conforto and let him walk at the end of the season. I certainly would not go out of my way to extend him now. I really liked the old metric of game winning hit. That meant something. And the clutch hitters, those who hit best with runners in scoring position, were always on the leader boards.

I said it in ST, he will make the team and by the second week he will have an injury and never pitch again for them, let’s hope that’s the case.
