That might be it, but there's some bad luck in it too, last night he hit the ball hard three times, two of them were a line drive right at the SS. His BABIP is just .259 the last time he had a BABIP that low he had 109 wRC+. Yeah he's not hitting the ball as hard as last year, he was 54.4 Hard hit%, this year 39%. So there's certainly reason to worry. But still, he will improve.

Jon Morosi reported yesterday that Soroka's MRI showed no structural damage but there is still some lingering inflammation. He won't start throwing until that is completely gone. His earliest likely return is sometime in June.

Why not try one of Wilson or Wright as a reliever? At least for this year.

If Ynoa can keep pitching like this then man our rotation has some serious upside whenever it gets healthy.

    Soroka
    Fried
    Anderson
    Morton
    Ynoa

right now its a double edged sword though, he has been pitching this well with Alex Jackson as his catcher. But, it seems Alex Jackson can't hit. Do the Braves move on from Jackson and hope Ynoa can build chemistry with others or do you just keep Jackson knowing he can't hit?

Bats are definitely heating up. Anderson and Ynoa are carrying the rotation right now, which is actually promising. One thing that isn’t is Ozuna continuing to not hit. He had the home, but going 1-5 isn’t great.

I wonder if Contreras has any chemistry with Ynoa. We know Contreras is an all around better catcher than Jackson. Service time rules suck

With all of the talk about Alex Jackson and the catcher position, it made me wonder where Tyler Flowers was, as I had not heard of him being signed at all. I was wondering if maybe the Braves could just get him on the cheap to be the backup catcher again but he's actually already with the Braves in a non-player role:

Yup and he's supposedly been catching and taking batting practice near by in case the Braves ever have an emergency and need him.

Its a easy trade off to have Jackson in the lineup to keep getting this Yona.

Smyly Is getting killed again tonight, don't know what to do with him but keep getting him out there every 5th day might not be an option.

Smyly is awful. He may be able to eat innings in the pen, but this pitching rotation management from the GM has been pitiful. I agree w/ H. Olivera that I was shocked at the 11m...like who was giving this guy 6 m? The sad part was that everyone else in the world knew this was an awful decision, BUT our GM. Said yrs ago to trade Newcomb, Folty abd Camargo after over-achieving yrs. The perephrielles (sp) all said these guys were over achieving...could have got a lot for them then.

Also, hated keeping Wright and Wilson so long...now they have little to no value. Very worried w/ the rotation. Feel Morton will be fine, Anderson is good. Hope Fried can find it again and maybe get Soroka back and in ok form. Smyly can't get you 3 or 4 innings.
