6-7-8 has 7 hits abd 8 rbi tonight. Having MLBers playing matters. Stretching the lineuo matters.

Ron Washington has been struggling as 3B coach recently. You just do not send a runner on a 50-50 play (heck, it better be 90-10) wheb we will have 2nd and 3rd, no outs and Freeman, Riley and Duvall due up. Bad, bad, bad , bad decision and he has got to know better. Has to decide before that happens...he is a mlb vet abd must know the situation
A lot of people are hitting on Washington for sending Joc but honestly Iím ok with it. I understand that Freeman was coming up but I like being aggressive. Youíre not going to get a lot of chances to score against a pitcher as good as Woodruff. It literally took perfect defense for the Brewers to get out Joc. I would say more times than not Joc is going to be safe. Washington might be our best coach so Iím ok with the decisions he makes.

its kind of refreshing having a reliever come in and not blow a lead.

Between Matzek, Martin, Rodriguez, and Smith we have a solid group to hold onto close leads. I still donít trust Luke Jackson (4.45 FIP) but heís been solid. Santana and Chavez have been pleasant surprises. We might finally have a solid bullpen. Ynoa potentially joining the bullpen only makes it better.

Call me crazy, but I still expect Greene to come around and be above average too. Heís basically at a spring training level now, so soon he will need to show some improvement.

Going with a weird lineup today:

    Albies
    Soler
    Freeman
    Riley
    Swanson
    Duvall
    Heredia
    Smith
    Morton

We went from having our 6-7-8 hitters produce a ton yesterday to going with Heredia and Smith again at the bottom.

I get going with Smith for Morton, but why Heredia? Heís been pretty bad lately and should just be a bench bat now. Until Rosario gets healthy they should roll with what they had yesterday daily.

Whatever we get from Greene is just icing on the cake IMO. Iím not expecting much but if he does pitch better then great. You can never have enough quality arms in the bullpen.

Not surprised with another 1 run loss. They need to put the best lineup out each day until Rosario is back. Heredia shouldnít play over Pederson and Smith should only be an emergency option.

Our offense can be potent when it doesnít have a black hole for three batters 7-8-9.

Smith is great behind the plate, Morton only gave up 3 hits and we lost. Switching the catchers for more offense isn't going to help, rest of the lineup needs to stepup. 1-for-9 with RISP aint going to do it.

It was a day game after a night game, the backup catcher starts those games most of the time.

d'Arnaud played in 2 rehab games over the weekend. Ynoa made his first rehab start but that went poorly. 6 runs on 8 hits in only 2 innings.

I'm a fan of tonights line up:

    Albies 2B
    Soler RF
    Freeman 1B
    Riley 3B
    Swanson SS
    Duvall LF
    Pederson CF
    Smith C

Once d'Arnaud is back the lineup will look pretty solid 1-8. Rosario as a platoon/bench bat strengthens the bench.

Ok so Smith played after the night game, fine. Why is he in tonight though? We have a 5 run first ended on his hit into a double play lol. Heís just so bad.

DOB was on twitter defending him the other day. He said the pitching staff likes throwing to him. Haven't seen the other pitchers but Morton has good numbers throwing to him. Now that Heredia and Almonte are no longer starting I can better deal with Smith being in the lineup.
