Sounds like d’Arnaud is going to be out a while. A rough start keeps getting worse.

DOB said more tests being done but d’Arnaud likely going on the 60 day IL. It’s William Contreras time.

I find it pretty ironic that Austin Riley has been our second best hitter this year

d’Arnaud has a torn ligament in his thumb. He’s going to have surgery and might be done for the year. Braves hope he’ll be back by the end of the year.

If Contreras plays well in his absence then d’Arnaud will definitely be gone after the year. Hopefully Contreras steps up.

hopefully he can regain his dominance.

Something has to change over all, like I said before this team is a mess. when the pitching is on the hitting sucks, when the hitting is on the pitching sucks, when the starters are good the bullpen sucks, when the starts suck the bullpen is good.

also on the plus side, he had a great game with Contreras behind the dish. may mean we can replace Alex Jackson

d'Arnaud's injury may be a blessing in disguise. Sucks to lose him but now the team is forced to play Contreras, even though they want to manipulate his service time. Hopefully d'Arnaud is able to come back at the end of the year. It's possible Contreras plays well and keeps the job but at least our bench will be stronger.

With d’Arnaud out for a while now I wonder if we will officially bring Flowers back? That vet presence is nice to have back there sometimes.

I had wondered that as well but Atlanta apparently has gone with Jeff Mathis as the veteran backup to Contreras.

Mathis doesn't offer anything with his bat but I've read he's really good behind the plate. That should help our young pitchers. He did good work with Jose Fernandez and Dan Haren.
