Looks like Inciarte pulled something rounding second. He came out of the game immediately. The look on his face wasn't good. Sucks for him, he was actually swinging the bat better lately.

I agree. Newcomb is pitching with a lot of intensity

Sean Kazmar called up. Crazy note on him; he last played in Sept of 2008. A few of his teammates were Trevor Hoffman, Greg Maddux, Jim Edmonds, Brian Giles, and Jake Peavy.

Becuase of bullpen is trash again. Letting vets go for cheap have put us in a bind with guys from last year are regressing.

Acuna hurt himself diving back to first base. He stayed in the game and scored but heís now been removed from the game.

Didnít look too bad but definitely need to be concerned now.

The injuries are piling up now.

ESPN broadcast showed the Cubs free agents at the end of the year and Kimbrel is one of them. Didnít look at his advanced stats but looks like heís possibly back to his old self. If the Cubs struggle again this year Kimbrel might be a trade target for the Braves.

Who coulda guessed? Heredia 2 home runs tonight including a grand slam. Going to need one of these unheralded guys to play over their head for a week or two with all these injuries. Good for Heredia having a big night.

He still throws hard and has been looking great early on, but hard to trust a guy with two straight terrible seasons. If he's made available at the deadline the Cubs need to eat most of his salary anyway.

I'd assume he will miss the next two games, with another off day thursday he might be able to come back by friday. Since we are playing at New York with how thin our OF depth is right now I still expect to see Ozuna in LF while Sandoval takes the DH spot. If Albies comes back, this is how I would draw the lineup:

    Albies 2B
    Freeman 1B
    Ozuna LF
    d'Arnaud C
    Sandoval DH
    Swanson SS
    Adrianza RF
    Riley 3B
    Heredia CF

I would guess Swanson hits lead off. Snit put him there last year when Acuna got hurt. Only 13 games but he slashed .344/.365/.508 hitting lead off.

Good point, I did not remember that and even though he hasn't started the season hitting particulary well, he's doing better lately.
