It feels good to be out of FLA. At least in Buffalo the fans actually support the home team. In FLA, even the Rays had more fans in the stands than us.

Great win and short series sweep. 10/10 so far for the Buffalo experience.

FYI, the Jays have the 6th lowest strikeout rate in the majors which is a tremendous improvement over 2020.

Over his last 30 games, Rowdy is hitting .274/.337/.440. You'd like to see more power, but that's a big turnaround. Over his last 7 he's .353/.476/.588

Rowdy's looking much better, the other slow starter, LGJ is .309/.781 over his past 30 days, .400/1.090 over the past 15 days, 8 multi-hit games over his past 10, he's on fire right now.

Oh definitely. You can tell with how much weíve been hitting to the opposite field on those outside pitches. Been real refreshing and encouraging to see.

Also: is Randal Grichuk ever going to slow down? It's June and he's still decent, even though his OBP has taken a hit.

As the sample size gets bigger, I assume these guys like Grich should average out. Pretty sure there were posts about him last year turning it around and being a new hitter, only for his numbers to go down like a week after and posting better than his career numbers but barely justifying his contract.

Grichuk definitely started out on fire last year too. He had a great month followed by a poor month. That is pretty normal for baseball players though. Over just 55 games any slump (or hot streak) gets magnified). However, they are 54 games through the season this year and he has had a very similar first third of the season:

    2020: .273/.312/.481 13 BB's 49 SO's 35 RBI's
    2021: .286/.318/.515 9 BB's 42 SO's 41 RBI's

He still doesn't walk much, but he has significantly reduced his K rate and started using the opposite field which has helped him hit for a higher average. Combine that with his 30+ HR pace he has shown over the past 3 seasons and you have a pretty productive OF. I mean, he is currently on pace to drive in over 120 runs as the 5th hitter in this lineup.....and Springer has barely ever played!

What is this lineup going to look like if Gurriel and Tellez keep hitting and Springer comes back and looks like Springer again? This lineup has 4 guys on pace for 30+ HR's...and that doesn't count Hernandez, Springer. Tellez or Gurriel who could all easily heat up and do it over the final 4 months.
