It's not like people are going to stop buying from Amazon over good/bad reviews.

it's been 2 months since he stepped down as CEO...but it's been years since he managed at a level that involved personnel....and I wasn't defending him, I was making the point that top level CEOs don't call all the shots in what transpires in the business. That's simply not how it works.

A friend who's been at Wally for years says, at least around here, starting wage is going to $14

And I just love how all you big time businessmen know what should happen with their businesses.

You definitely have a knee jerk reaction to defend them.

I’m saying everyone in that decision making process is greedy and wrong. Bezos, other top level execs, board of directors, etc. all of them.

How it works is these companies pay small wages and make billions and then cry about how they can’t afford to pay their employees any extra money while their owners became the wealthiest people on earth.

Forget Amazon’s in general. No one takes issue with this method of disinformation?

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bro...r-workers/amp/

Walmart made an extra $5 billion in profits last year since the Pandemic started.

Your article says 425,000 of their workers are getting a raise and the man in the article’s raise was by $1 an hour. Assuming that’s the average that means WalMart is spending an additional $884 million on wages.

Which sounds like a lot until you realize they made $5 billion extra on top of their normal $7 billion a year in profits.

So there’s really no other way to put this: Wal-Mart is pocketing most of their revenues and additional profits and giving raises to their workers with the leftover scraps.

The workers can quit and go somewhere else.

You mean like another country that pays decent wages?

Because America shouldn’t be a country where you have to go to another job to get a decent wage. We are the richest country in the history of the world, we should be able to pay everyone a decent wage.

Lol. My 15 year old son was hired for his first job ever yesterday as a permanent lifeguard. Starting pay is $12.90/hr. That's a 15 year old.

And for ***** and grin's, which countries would that be?

I don't think any of us have experience that is relatable to Jeff Bezoz.

There is only one Bezos, hence he's the richest man in the world. Me thinks sitewolf is talking about the average business owner. Hope that's not to nuanced for you.
