Probably should, with Griffin, Drummond, Aldridge, and Dieng off the board.

Knicks opened up 2 roster spots, so we'll see what they do.

Thunder waived Rivers. Bucks front runners to sign Rivers according to Shams.

Why trade Theis (main rotation player) for Wagner, only to sign a guy who's been inactive for over a month?

Most of the time Ainge is pretending he's too smart for his own good. Turner would be have solved their issues and given them a player to fill 28 minutes a night, with Williams filling the rest and the 5 spot would have likely been one of their strongest positions now. And Turner surely costs less than Fournier & Thompson' salaries.

All that posturing over the summer and they'll be in a worse cap position than they would have been assuming they somehow keep Fournier.

I asked the same thing, but I guess it had something to do with avoiding the tax, idk.

Theis was traded to simply avoid paying a tax bill for a team thats at .500 right now. not only does it save them money this year, but resets your repeater tax status. the real biggest mistake was the contract that Tristan got.

Then why not try to straight salary dump him rather than Theis?

Also we got the 3-4 yearly “Almost Celtics” list starting with Aaron Gordon. Lol.

Right, but Thompson is apparently such a bad fit they are now considering a guy who hasn't played in a month.

As the last poster mentioned, why not just try to trade him instead?

that and Theis wasn't going to be re-signed after the season given that he clearly lost the starting job to Rob Williams and would be looking for a payraise after the season ended.

pretty sure the Celtics tried to dump him as well (rumor was that they discussed sending him home to Toronto) but probably couldn't get it closed.

Tristan was a bad signing from day one... Rob Williams already showed a lot of promise, and Tacko proved he can play decently in the league. Between those two and Theis, that should have been their center rotation.

cause he is on a two year deal for almost double the money that Theis gets. I am guessing they tried very hard to get rid of him, but no one wants him.

Maybe wait and see if Whiteside gets bought out to bring him back?

Cousins is a guy that’s just gonna get injured and paid to ride the bench again IMO. Isn’t that what he has been for like the last 3 years?
