    Rockets closing in on history

Lost their 16th straight. Four off tying the record of 28 straight. Crazy to think they were a game over .500 when the streak began. Anyone think theyíll break it? Could get that elusive W against the Pistons or Thunder.

    Next 5 for the record:

    Hawks
    Warriors
    Pistons
    Thunder
    Raptors

    Losing records are pretty meaningless.

Looking at that schedule, I'd like to think they could win one of those games. But they haven't lost a game by single digits since Feb. 17. On this losing streak, 14 of their 16 losses have been by at least 10 points, so it's not just that they're losing. They're not even close in most of these games, which usually feel out of reach by halftime.

I do think they looked a little better with KPJ in the starting lineup. If they could get Wood back, I think they can win the occasional game again. But, honestly, in the grand scheme of things, if they do end up winning 21+ in a row, I won't care as long as they end up with a top 4 pick in this draft.

Good catch! I didn't think to fact check OP's numbers, but you're right. The record is 26, which both the post-Lebron Cavs did in 2010-11 and the Hinkie "Trust the process" Sixers accomplished in 2013-14. I would like to think this team isn't "27 losses in a row" bad, but I didn't think they were capable for 16 straight either.

Let's revisit this in a couple of weeks if they do end up hitting that 21-loss mark...

100%. The source I used had the 84 Knicks at 20.

Itís actually the Process 76ers at 28. Iíll update the OP.

28 to span two seasons. 26 is the single season record.

Across 2 seasons, yeah. 26 is still the single season mark.

Iím a Sixers boxscore/radio follower and I remember them having something to do with the record so felt I needed to fact check since they werenít mentioned in the OP.
