As far as we know, anyway.

In a letter dated June 30 to two Democratic senators, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island and Chris Coons of Delaware, an F.B.I. assistant director, Jill C. Tyson, said that the most “relevant” of the 4,500 tips the agency received during an investigation into Mr. Kavanaugh’s past were referred to White House lawyers in the Trump administration, whose handling of them remains unclear.

Why not bring back public hangings as a deterrent to future would-be rapists? Go all the way medieval with justice.

This is the only way the death penalty as a deterrent against certain crimes is effective and its relatively inexpensive. I'd be totally in favor of it for certain crimes. School shootings for instance...

Yup, the minute Biden got in, he brought inflation. Nothing to do with the ongoing economical problems we are having.

While I don't care for Cuomo at all, I don't understand how the AG can say he committed multiple felonies at the state and federal level...but not press charges, that seems really weird.

Anytime someone says the death penalty is a deterrent, I remember a story about 1700's France, where pickpocketers work the crowd at a public hanging of a pickpocketer.

Nine out of ten people who commit death penalty crimes either don't care about the consequence of doing the crime or beleive they won't get caught.

Ahh yes. How I've missed the "my party is made up of fewer sex freaks than yours!" discourse.

Pickpocketing was/is a crime of necessity. Someone is poor so they steal from others. These shouldn't be the types of crime which would warrant a death penalty.

Furthermore, the deterrentis isnt for those committing the crime but for those witnessing the execution. I believe in the 10/10/80 rule when it comes to people. 10% always do the right thing. 10% are incorrigible (these are those who don't care about consequences). But 80% are motivated by several factors, fear being one of them.

Can you still make a guillotine for under $600 like you could under Trump?
