I don’t like this signing. He’s going to be Wacha/Porcello 2.0 except be paid more. He’s not a very good pitcher.

If Trump can become president with no political background then I don't understand why I need a resumé

He’s a very good signing. I don’t see the downside when it’s basically pitching depth and insurance for Syndergaard. He has very high upside for the role he’s taking.

This allows them to keep churning and get Lindor, Conforto and Syndergaard signed (or at least Lindor and one of the other 2).

    Don't worry. He's got this.

The only downside is, barring injury, he's guaranteed a starting spot for 2-3 years. Even if ineffective. And that can be problematic

    Wacha - 6.62/5.25/4.30
    Porcello - 5.64/3.33/4.38
    Walker - 1.37/4.14/4.86

Who do you think is the best?
Washington has the best top 3. If Soroka has recovered fully then they and The Mets are very close. Anderson can become a big time pitcher, could be the best on their staff. The Marlins young pitchers will surprise

If Noah comes back healthy, the top 3 of Mets are just as good if not better than Washington.

So he’s basically a downgrade from Porcello and Wacha lol

We should sign another reliever. A good one this time.

I love this signing. At the very least next year we have DeGrom-Cookie-Walker as our 1-2-3. That was one of my biggest fears going into this season because Syndergaard and Stroman were on one year deals

Walker might not end up being good or worth the contract he got, but Porcello/Wacha aren't good comparisons. Porcello/Wacha were coming off bad seasons and continued to be bad with the Mets, and there was no reason to believe they would have had much better results. Walker is coming off a good season and appears to be on the upswing.

Best one I can ever remember. I mean, we did sign Wacha and Porcello last year so maybe second best??
